         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li>From a young age, Leonardo was gifted in arts</li><li>At 15, his father set him up to be an apprentice for an artist named Andrea del Verrocchio</li><li>While working for him, Leonardo learned many techniques like painting, sculpting, and technical- mechanical arts. He also would work in the workshop next door for Antonio Pollaiuolo, another artist</li><li>These workshops helped him to become a very talented artist</li><li>1472- Leonardo was accepted into the painters guild of Florence, but he decided to stay in his teacher's workshop for five more years</li><li>After that, he worked independently in Florence until 1481</li></ul><div>(Leonardo da Vinci)</div><div><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li>When da Vinci was in Milan in 1495 he was specifically ordered by the Duke of Milan to paint one of his most famous paintings, <em>The Last Supper</em>, for the convent Santa Maria delle Grazie</li><li>Da Vinci did not paint in fresco, which was a common way for painting on walls. Instead, he painted with oil-based paint</li><li>The painting represents the very dramatic moment when Jesus says one of the apostles will betray him and Da Vinci portrays the emotion of each person</li></ul><div>(Gould)</div><div><br></div>]]></description>
