She currently resides in Virginia where her husband is currently stationed with the US Navy. This is her second residence in the United States. Isabella's family structure in Spain consisted of her mother, father, and 2 sisters. Her and her husband live alone at this current time, and she has no current health concerns. They plan to start a family over the next year and has some insecurities with being alone in the US with no family support and receiving prenatal care with the possibility of her husband getting deployed or moved to another duty station.

I provided her information on options for virtual care and recommended she reaches out to her health plan for a health coach. She was unfamiliar with how insurance companies can assist with finding health care providers and also with getting assistance with social workers if needed.

Interviewing Isabella felt comfortable, and I felt gratitude from her.

Knowledge was gained about respect and how important that is for all cultures.

This has impacted me in a way to ensure my staff have the tools to provide culture-based care in our offices. I manage a practice and do have minimal patient care contact. I can use this information to educate staff and also utilize in any contact I have in the workplace with co-workers, staff, patients and providers.
