Introduction : What Is The Purpose Allah Creates Humans and Jiins?

وَمَا خَلَقْتُ الْجِنَّ وَالْاِنْسَ اِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُوْنِ

I have only created Jinns and men, that they may serve Me. (Az Zariyat : 56)

1) Set up the right niyyah only to Allah.

وَمَآ أُمِرُوٓا۟ إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ مُخْلِصِينَ لَهُ ٱلدِّينَ حُنَفَآءَ وَيُقِيمُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَيُؤْتُوا۟ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ ۚ وَذَٰلِكَ دِينُ ٱلْقَيِّمَةِ

And they have been commanded no more than this: To worship Allah, offering Him sincere devotion, being true (in faith); to establish regular prayer; and to practise regular charity; and that is the Religion Right and Straight. (AL Bayyinah : 5)

- A good niyyah will deny the mazmumah that may affect our worship.

2) Every act of worships must be did with the accurate ways and just as taught by Rasulullah SAW and told in Al Quran.
- The most essential element in worshipping God is "ihsaan" which brings the meaning of perfection and excellence. Rasulullah SAW said, "to worship God as though you see Him, and if you cannot see Him, then indeed He sees you". (Al-Bukhari and Al-Muslim).

3) Worship with a fully devoted heart to Allah
- Put the best of ourselves to serve Allah
- Every good deeds brings decent consequences wether in dunya or akhira.

Hikmah from Ibadah (Salah, Sawm, Zakah, Hajj)

1) Hikmah from Salah

إِنَّ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ تَنْهَىٰ عَنِ ٱلْفَحْشَآءِ وَٱلْمُنكَرِ ۗ
Indeed, prayer prohibits immorality and wrongdoing (Al Ankabut : 45)

Fahsha' : Bad deeds physically which humans tend to do such as zinaa, drink wine and stealing.
Munkar : Bad deeds mentally and affect one's akidah such as syirik, nifaq and fasik.

- Only valuable salah will help to prohibit ones from doing sins and it is not easy to achieve it but we as muslim must put our best because salah is one of pillars of Islam.

2) Hikmah from Sawm

يٰٓـاَيُّهَا الَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا كُتِبَ عَلَيۡکُمُ الصِّيَامُ کَمَا كُتِبَ عَلَى الَّذِيۡنَ مِنۡ قَبۡلِکُمۡ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَتَّقُوۡنَۙ‏
Believers! Fasting is enjoined upon you, as it was enjoined upon those before you, that you become God-fearing. (2:183)

Taqwa means : Believers who avoid shirik with Allah and who work in His obedience.

By fasting, it will train us to restrain our nafsu from eating, drinking and always trying to make good deeds which is achieving a level of taqwa.

3) Hikmah from Zakah
- Purifies our heart from mazmumah and stingy while the wealth we are blessed with does not belong to us solely, it is a blessing from Allah SWT that must be shared. Hence, we will always have barakah in our life.

4) Hikmah from Hajj

- Be cautious with actions that destroy ibadah hajj.

الْحَجُّ أَشْهُرٌ مَّعْلُومَاتٌ فَمَن فَرَضَ فِيهِنَّ الْحَجَّ فَلاَ رَفَثَ وَلاَ فُسُوقَ وَلاَ جِدَالَ فِي الْحَجِّ وَمَا تَفْعَلُواْ مِنْ خَيْرٍ يَعْلَمْهُ اللّهُ وَتَزَوَّدُواْ فَإِنَّ خَيْرَ الزَّادِ التَّقْوَى وَاتَّقُونِ يَا أُوْلِي الأَلْبَابِ
The Hajj is (to be performed in) the months that are well-known. So whoever undertakes Hajj in them, there should be no obscenity, no sin, no quarrel in the Hajj. Whatever good you do, Allah will know it. Take provisions along, for the merit of (having) provision is to abstain (from begging), and fear Me, O men of understanding! (Al Baqarah : 197)

Rafatha : Nasty words about woman, jima' , desire etc.
Fasiq : Bad deeds, a sinner who enjoys the sins he made.
Jidal : Arguing orally without any concrete reasons and wasting time

Preparation for Salah with Khusyu'

Khusyu (language) :
Assukut. calmness, serenity, tranquility, dignity and humility
(istilah) :
It means that one's heart stands before its Lord with humility and submission.

How to get a khusyu' salah?

1) Perform ablution correctly
2) Fulfill the terms of salah to make sure our salah will be accepted by Allah.
3) Apply all rukun is salah (qauli, qalbi, fi'li)

- Every muslims is compulsory to perform salah in any condition even when sick.
- The ones who intentionally avoid salah are the ones who destroy his own religion and faith.

The Virtues found In Salah with Khusyu'

قَدْ أَفْلَحَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ 1 ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ فِى صَلَاتِهِمْ خَـٰشِعُونَ
1. Successful indeed are the believers.

2. Those who offer their Salat (prayers) with all solemnity and full submissiveness.

They, who perform salah with khusyu will gain rewards in dunya and akhira just as Allah has promised.

1) Reminds us to always "muhasabah"

Muhasabah : Reflect to our salah and always trying to make improvement.
In the meantime, "hablum minallah" will improve too.

2) Gains 'iffah

'Iffah : Restrain desire from doing any sins and avoided from bad things.

3) Tawadhu
Tawadhu : Be humble and to be aware of one’s nothingness before Allah

We must always train to perform salah with khusyu just as we are doing it for the last time before death.

Ulama says that "Umat akhir zaman nak capai separuh khusyu dalam solat pun dah susah."

The Virtues found in Zakah/Sadaqah

It purifies our wealth as Allah says in the Qur'an:
It keeps one away from sin and saves the giver from the moral ill arising from the love and greed of wealth.
Through Zakat, the poor are cared for; these include widows, orphans, the disabled, the needy and the destitute.

Rasulullah SAW said: "When a man dies, his deeds come to an end except for three things: Sadaqah Jariyah (ceaseless charity); a knowledge which is beneficial, or a virtuous descendant who prays for him (for the deceased)." (Muslim)

Zakah will be our protector and helps us in "alam barzakh" when facing the two malaikah (Munkar and Nakir).

Virtues Found In Hajj

Hajj (ibadah badaniyyah)
- Hajj develops all the spiritual and moral goals of the various forms of worship in Islam, such as sincerity, piety, humility, obedience, patience, control, sacrifice, submission

1) Taqwa
Abdullah bin Mas’ud RA said: “Taqwa is always remembering Allah and never forgetting Him, submit to Him and never disobey Him, be grateful to Him and do not commit transgressions.”

- Hajj is not only about strength and greatness, but also about discipline and obedience. The hardships been through in order to achieve a haji mabrur really teaches ones the value of taqwa.

2) Sacrifice
- When ones is going to perform hajj, he must sacrifice times, energy and money. By this, it shows the love and willingness towards Allah, Our Creator.

Benefits Of Having Good Niyyah

It is narrated on the authority of Amirul Mu'minin, Abu Hafs 'Umar bin al-Khattab (ra) who said:

I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: "Actions are (judged) by motives (niyyah), so each man will have what he intended. Thus, he whose migration (hijrah) was to Allah and His Messenger, his migration is to Allah and His Messenger; but he whose migration was for some worldly thing he might gain, or for a wife he might marry, his migration is to that for which he migrated." [Bukhari & Muslim]

Good niyyah comes with many nice consequences as shown above. Niyyah is indeed a vital element in an act because it connects with tasawwuf. To ensure our every deeds is for the sake of Allah, it is really hard since we are just a normal human who is an unstoppable sinner.

But, nothing could be an excuse to not have a good niyyah when doing worship to Allah. Istiqamah, tawakkal are the key. Every hardships, there is a reward.

Allah is with the patience.

Proudly becoming Rasulullah's ummah, follow his actions.

To be honest, it was out of my list to be an usrah facilitator as i already set my mind to not be involving in any kind of leadership as soon i entered university life.

But, Allah's plan is always out of our box, He knows what is the best for us.

Being a facilitator is not only teaching me to be a leader, but i gain a lot of new islamic knowledge. Doing a research before every usrah session is a must and from that, i explore many new things and it kinda a therapy, escapism from a stressed day.

My wish for this upcoming usrah is a better approach to facilitators other than hands out a video to watch since most of facilitators do not have enough time to make it up and affect the performance in usrah session. It is a good way but there will be another method to improve this as the facilitators are all volunteered, not being chosen from ones ability.

Overall, the informative modules, awesome speaker, precious usrahmates, all the experiences are really worth it. Unexpectedly, i do enjoyed all the activities so much. It helps me a lot to be a better version of myself, day by day.

In order to achieve a good amal, we must have a firm knowledge to ensure the validity of our worship to avoid doing pointless and futile amal.

Imam Shafie said,

“Ilmu adalah cahaya penyuluh dalam kehidupan manusia. Dengan ilmu, ia dapat membimbing manusia ke arah kebaikan serta mengeluarkan diri manusia daripada kegelapan dan kejahilan kepada cahaya dan kebenaran.”

- Islam is not a mere religion, it is a complete life style which evolved in every perspective. Islam is the name of the religion revealed by Allah S.W.T. to Prophet Muhammad S.A.W.

- Literally, the word Islam is derived from Arabic root word 'aslama' which means to submit, to obey, to surrender.

- As a verbal noun, the word Islam connotes submission,
obedience, surrender or resignation to Allah as stated in Al Quran 2:131

- As a muslim, we have a goal which is completely different with the non muslim as we include Allah in every action we do and inevitably keep us on track with blessing of Allah.

- Not only that, in our religion, we have 5 pillars in Islam ;

1) the declaration of faith (shahada)
2) prayer (salah)
3) alms-giving (zakat)
4) fasting (sawm)
5) pilgrimage (hajj)

These are called ritual obligations of Muslims. They are acknowledged as compulsory and practiced by Muslims throughout the world. By following the life like Prophet MUhammad SAW, ones will live prudent and mindful life.

IMAN AND HADITH JIBRIL

Iman

- The word Iman is derived from the Arabic word 'Amana' which means to render secure, safe, calm and free from fear.

- Technically, iman is a firm belief or faith arising out of knowledge and conviction. Some scholars including Imam Abu Hanifah define Iman as “to be convinced with the inner heart, to affirm with the tongue and to carry out actions with various parts of the body.”

- A mukmin is indeed a muslim, but a muslim is not always a mukmin.

- There are 6 pillars of iman ;
1) belief in Allah
2) belief in His Angels
3) belief in His Messengers
4) belief in His books
5) belief in the Unseen
6) belief in the day of judgement, and belief in the good and bad of Qadar (Divine decree).

Ones who deny even one of the pillars can be kufr.

Appreciation For The Nature and Environment

Nature is one of our amanah, which is we have to take a good care of it. According to Islam, each man is the custodian of nature, and must live with harmony with other creatures. It is the duty of all Muslims to respect, nurture and care for the environment.

What Is Eschatology?

- A belief concerning death, the end of the world, or the ultimate destiny of humankind

specifically : any of various Christian doctrines concerning the Second Coming, the resurrection of the dead, or the Last Judgment

- About eschatology, we as Muslims must learn it from the right source and the most crucial part is following what has stated in Al Quran and Hadith to ensure our creed and aqidah is on the right track, Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jamaah.

What is Adab ?

Adab is fitrah – Natural disposition, an imbued virtue in every person by Allah.

In learning knowledge and Student
- Repeat & Review
- Taking Notes and Personal Attitude
- Ask, Inquire, Clarify
- Preparations (Read up, review before class)

Towards parents
- Being patient and tolerant with parents
- Supplicating for them
- Do service to your parents with heart and soul
- Love your parents

Towards neighbourhood and society
- Doing good to neighbors who may even be strangers
- Helping out a neighbor in need
- One must not trouble their neighbors
- Treating one’s neighbor with respect and duty

These are based on hadith and verses in alquran. This shows the beauty of Islam that every injunctions has their own purposes which bring benefits not only to oneself, but to society too.

- Ihsan is derived from the word 'hasana' which means to be good, to beautify. As a verbal noun it designates the quality of being good and beautiful.

- It is the way of doing things excellently and
beautifully as well as establishing what is good and beautiful in life.

In Hadith Jibril, ihsan is defined as to worship Allah as if you see him for, verily, even though you do not see Him, He surely sees you.

My wish for the upcoming usrah is to experience a knowledgeful content every session because the purpose of usrah is to gain new knowledge and strengthen the bond with Allah. Next, i hope usrah facilitator after this can try to improve from the bond perspective which all the usrah members can be viewed as family.

Some things that i learnt from usrah is on how to manage time as my schedule this semester is quite packed but still can spend my time to finish all my usrah works and attended every session. Not only that, i learnt new things such as eschatology, nature, and many inputs from other groups' roleplay.

Anyway, it is a wonderful ride along the semester 3. Thank you to my facilitator and i wish you all the best in your life ! Forgive all my wrongdoings either it is intentionally or unintentionally.
