Near the end of the classes visit at Ms. Tomas's house she tells them a story about a woman having her twelfth child and the woman saying she would rather have a devil instead of another child, but then one year later she did not have a child she had a devil, the devil was blue with red wings, Elliot and Uchenna looked at each other with a worried face, when it was there time to leave and get back on the trail back to the classroom Elliot and Uchenna were talking together and asking each other if they should have told someone but they ended up not telling anyone, they arrive at the big yellow bus back were they started, Ms. Vole tells the class to wait and sit down on the dry dirty ground over there while she gets their lunches on the bus and she asks Uchenna and Elliot to come with her and before she got on the bus she started telling them that she thought of some other reason what could have happened to them when they went off the trail and she made them eat on the hot bus, they sat in the back and while they were eating Elliot spotted the devil, it walked closer to the bus, when it reached the shade off the bus its head was missing, Elliot thought "wow, it is invisible in shade," he notifies Uchenna and somehow the devil makes it in through the window, it sits next to Uchenna and then moves over to Elliot, he takes his lunch and goes under the seat, they have never seen a lunch open up itself, because he was under the seat and there was no light under the seat only shade, the rest of the class walks on the bus and Uchenna and Elliot start to panic, for the bus ride home the watch the devil and after it finished Elliot's lunch it moved on to Uchenna's lunch, when the bus came to a stop Proffesor Fauna watched all the children exit the bus, he asks Uchenna and Elliot if they are coming and they had to think fast, they ended up putting the devil in Uchenna's backpack they wait thirty minutes in class and they were free from school, they walk home together, turn out that Uchenna only lives one street away from Elliot, they check on the devil to see if it's okay, thirty seconds later they check on him again, the devil jumps out and runs towards the park.
