For me, it is possible. This is because in the article that i have read; Geolinks said that one of the ways to improve the workplace by using internet is ensure your workplace has a reliable, high-speed and dedicated internet connection.  Today, with a competitive marketplace, the company need having high-speed, reliable Internet is dominant to a company’s internal productivity

While, for efficiency. There is one article Business Dictionary said that internet can make automate tasks to save time. For example, internet businesses often generate newsletters to people interested in their products or services. To write a new email to welcome each person as they subscribe to your mailing list - so you would write your welcome email, and use a newsletter services to automatically send the letter. 

Different types of technology can help the works increase efficiency and productivity.

  • Easier working
  • More efficient way of working
  • Tools to support change agility at workplaces
  • More motivated and commited employees
  • Improved cost-efficiency

A motivated employee will increase the rate of productivity. It is automatically triggered as they love what they are doing.

Meanwhile, according to Nick Ismail(2016), smart technology act as a catalyst to efficiency and productivity.
In a workplace that involve technologies will improved their on their and have different standards than regular company.

Employees with the right tools can be way more better than they are. It will push them to different level of efficiency. It save time, cost and energy.

iofficecorp.com mention that employees are the greatest asset of the company and the smartest workplace will make their worker as happy as possible and boost productivity.

With the right tools and connection to promote, such as integrated on-demand video conferencing, live chat and cloud-based project management tools,employees who have the access to flexibility will be able to be as productive as they could.

I have read all of your opinions which i think all of them are very good. In my point of view it is always good to boost the productivity in the workplace. I am sure that you guys often find your workday spiraling out of control. You start each day with a plan to get so much done, but soon find yourself becoming distracted, focusing on low-priority tasks and, simply, procrastinating. So do i. The low productivity and efficiency affect our focus. The tendency to become distracted is a common thing, so forgive yourself if you do. It is nature in our earliest days as humans, human will always with their mood. Sometimes the mood is in good but sometimes it is in bad condition. It is our prior to handle it. So here i put two  ways to improve the productivity in the smart workplace.

1. Instill accountability in your employees.

By making your workers accountable for their actions and decisions (regardless of their position), it encourages them to be more cautious and meticulous when it comes to their work, hence minimising the risk of errors.

In addition, instilling accountability in your employees also gives them a sense of ownership, so that they too feel they have a stake in the company and how it performs.


2. Motivate and reward for good results.

While it may sound like common sense, many employers fail to give workers recognition for a job well done — which can result in employee morale dropping. Rewarding your hardworking employees with monetary bonuses clearly shows how much you value their work and will motivate them to continue doing their best for the company.

But what if budget constraints prevent you from giving them a raise? Don’t simply remain silent and expect them to know that you recognise their efforts! In fact, it is times like these when keeping staff morale up is most important.

Give your staff words of encouragement and assure them that once the situation improves, they will be rewarded accordingly. Or perhaps, offer other forms of rewards such as an increase in leave days or time off. Remember, recognition can come in many forms, not just monetary.

Do you guys think that these 5-Must haves for the digital workplace could help the smart workplace to boost productivity and efficiency? 

In my opinion, it does help to boost productivity and efficiency as when you have a smart workplace, the employees would stay connected between each other. Thus, they will not waste their time. 

Next, by having smart workplace that prepared smart locks, smart employee check-ins, smart plugs and bluetooth-enabled like Atikah Nazri have listed in the previous post, these  all things will produce a good results in the achievement, or presentation of the workers as they have the right tools with them. 

Furthermore, we need to invest in video collaboration, so that system and the services would go in fast without requiring forklift upgrades or costly gateways. 

On top of that, by having smart workplace, you can restore your data electronically which definitely will help to increase the productivity and efficiency.  
Why? This is because Data storage is a key component of a successful and it is very important especially in a workplace. All the files currently being processed in accounts payable, expense reporting, and other departments need to be stored somewhere you won’t lose them. Written policies, budgeting records, and other frequently used files have to stay easily accessible. And you’re also keeping records of files no longer in active use for tax purposes, legal reasons, and to help you plan for the future. By listing all these, I'm pretty sure, you'll think it is also important in the workplace.

By keeping the data electronically, you don't have to worry regarding on the issues of 
  • How would you recover files if a fire, flood, or other disaster destroys the papers?
  • Do you have enough room to store seven years worth of tax records?
  • Is the time, storage space, and effort involved in maintaining a paper filing system cost-effective?
  • Can you find specific files quickly when needed?

This is because, keeping data electronically is efficient, electronic storage protects data, 
digital data storage is secure,
electronic data is more accessible, and the data storage also will scales to your needs.

According to Mary Nestor-Harper(2018), there are some disadvantages of smart workplace or technology at workplace towards employees. 

  1. Office Distractions
The distractions act constantly because technology need attention. For an example, distractions of the normal noise of ringing phones, constant emails, and a noisy fax machine, and it's no wonder that it's sometimes hard to get work done. It will reduce the efficiency and productivity. Aren't you agree?

2. Loss of Interpersonal Communication Skills

Too much reliance on electronic methods of communication not only can increase unnecessary traffic, but can decrease vital personal interaction. They will lose the interaction skill to work with others and this will contribute to the decreasing of working rates.

In the meantime, i had discovered an interesting article about this issue we are having.

According to nevadasmallbusiness.com, these are some of the "danger" that they had listed.

• Quality of work is compromised.

• Morale suffers because other employees have to cover for co-workers trying to reach the next level of their favorite computer-based games.

• Work assignments are delivered late and deadlines are missed.

In the end, these are some of the causes blaming smart workplace in reducing the productivity and efficiency of a workplace. What do you guys think about my discoveries?

For an example, the worker can improve their time and experience at workplaces, in turn increasing the productivity and satisfaction of employees by letting employees make more autonomous choices, having a greater say in perfecting the workplace environment, and assisting them in task management. 

What are the differences between conventional keys and smart locks? In terms of definitions, smart lock are basically traditional locks’ automated version. A smart lock uses the traditional lock mechanism but this lock mechanism can only be engaged remotely or electronically.  Smart locks have the ability to be operated and controlled by smartphones in addition to their capability to integrate with different smart devices. Smart locks allow homeowners to monitor and control their locks in a way that traditional ones cannot. By having this smart locks, the lame conventional keys and locks can be replaced. Now, it takes nothing more than a smartphone app to manage your workplace security, and while users like such solutions, IT managers and admins truly love it. 

Moreover, Cloud-enabled access control system allow not only to set granular access rights to different members of your organization, but also to perform remote unlocks and set a variety of automated rules.

Why is it that this article has a title saying out this point of view?

This is because, in my opinion, I agree on the statement where smarter workplace will produce a happier environment and without noticing would also boost the efficiency and the productivity of the worker. 

According to this article, In Mumbai, they said that by having this IoT, it will set up a happy environment where could eventually boost up the productivity and efficiency as the worker enjoy their job and the workplace that they are in. 

According to a Sodexo report, IoT could make staff more efficient, too, by using the Artificial Intelligence embedded in the devices.

It is stated in the article saying that, though most companies recognize that their success depends not only on attracting the ‘best and the brightest’ talent, but also on retaining, motivating and engaging employees through a workplace experience and culture that allows them to thrive, most times this does not always happen.

This statement explains that, although most of the people is aware that the smart workplace could help in boosting the productivity and efficiency by preparing all the facilities, but not many of them is motivating and engaging their workers with a smart workplace that could make their workers happier. 

In the article also, it says that for getting the Generation Z to be ready in their workforce is another priority at companies. It is proven that their expectations of workplace is surrounded with technology and they clearly prefer for a work–life balance, that organisations should have realized that IoT can bridge all these differences.

As we are living in a modern era of technology, we couldn't deny that having all these technology to penetrate in our life, it help us in many ways. 

Do you know that, most people spend about 8-10 hours a day at works. It is natural nowadays for the office automation to use IoT to gain momentum so that it will boot the productivity. 

Although, these IoT could help in increasing the productivity, but there are still some issues relating to this which is implementing this intelligent office is a luxury or a necessity?

In my opinion, it could be both. 
Why?

To implement an intelligent workplace would cost you a lot. It would not be a necessity and lead to a luxury if only the facilities that have been provided did not contribute a lot or simply having it as a reason of beautifying the space in the office. 

According to a Future Workforce Study research for Dell and Intel, almost a half (42%) of Millenials indicates as a potential reason for leaving the job that “the office is not smart enough.”

But it will be a necessity when having all these facilities, the management system of order in the office is improve, and could ease and makes the worker more efficient.

Hi guys. I have been waiting for this question to share my opinion. So, crafting the right workplace environment has become very crucial towards greater workforce productivity for workplace strategists over the time. Intelligent technologies can be integrated within a digital twin platform which is giving the employee a visual interface to interact with the technology . For instances, with IoT (internet of things) integrations such as indoor beacons, employees can see and book available workspaces. These types of on the go interactions encourage a more mobile workforce, which brings to greater workforces productivity and happiness. Likewise, what do i love about smart workplace is employees can make meeting technologically.
There are a different problems employees experience when it comes to workplace technology for meetings. The first one is things do not always work as they expect, it caused wasted time and frustration. Second, companies always make the mistake of providing meeting technology only in conference rooms. That practice against of the previous recommendation about providing connectivity everywhere. The smartest offices leverage technology to make sure their staff are as happy and productive as possible.
 
3.       Enhanced recruiting efforts and retention

In conclusion, implementing smart technology in your workplace will likely require a noticeable financial investment as well as reallocating resources, but it doesn’t have to be done all at once. Companies can take a phased approach to updating their workplace and still see the benefits. The most important thing is to use the smart technology that makes sense for the business and not just use whatever is the most popular.

A system like this can save time, reduce hassle, and minimize potential issues. It would automate the check-in process and provide them with valuable and accurate insights about their workforce.

2.       Smart locks

Protecting a company’s assets should be a top priority. Smart locks can help with this.

These smart office gadgets can prevent unauthorized access to their entire office or just to specific areas. 

3.       Smart plugs

Unlike conventional plugs, employees can control these smart devices from their desktop, smartphone, or tablet. Depending on what they leverage smart plugs for, the centralized platform it works from allows them to do things like limit computer usage, automate lighting preferences, or even adjust the temperature.

4.       Bluetooth-enabled keyboards

The number of telecommuters has increased by 115 percent over the last decade. At this point, 3.9 million Americans work from home. This means that it’s more important than ever to provide your remote workers with the latest technology, including connected gadgets that make it easy to work from anywhere.

 
Hence, these four smart office gadgets make life easier for the boss and his staff and result in a more connected workplace. From automated employee check-ins to foldable Bluetooth-enabled keyboards, creating a state-of-the-art smart office can be an easy thing to accomplish.

It is as easier as ABC to access almost anything from the net including make job and life more easier.

    According Nick Ismail, based on a study from the Economist Intelligence Unit surveying 1,865 employees, those who were connected to the internet on a mobile device contributed a 16% boost in productivity for that business, and a 18% boost in the actual creativity of employees when at work. 16% of boost in productivity could bring a huge turnover for a large scale company. It could help them in competing at another level of business.

    Meanwhile, in Steve Ranger opinion, making devices and objects in the workplace more intelligent and able to communicate could make workers happier and more effective, and also make it easier to measure productivity by using real-time data. In addition, it could make staff more efficient by using the artificial intelligence embedded in these devices to automate basic queries and tasks. Internet could make employees work more easier.

    In conclusion, Internet do help in contributing increasing the productivity of a workplace and the efficiency of workers.

    Thanks to IoT, companies can save energy while keeping the office work environment comfortable. Such tools are already on the market or in development, and their quality is only going to improve.

    3. Better workplace collaboration

    IoT potentially improving interactions among employees. For example, thanks to technology that enables remote workers, companies can create a real presence for employees anywhere in the world. Soon, video conferencing that previously required use of a fixed device such as a computer or smartphone will be possible from any part of an enterprise base.

    Implement a wayfinding system with real-time intelligence that uses utilization tracking technology to sense which spaces are currently in use and which are available. Employees can simply take a moment to use a kiosk by the elevator, or open an app on their smartphone to find a work space in seconds. 

    2. Connectivity everywhere
    Remote connectivity is essential, but it’s just as important to make sure employees have consistent, high-quality connectivity everywhere in their workplace. For example, don’t forget Wi-Fi on the grounds of your campus, in the cafeteria and even the gym.

    3. Smart parking
    When people arrive, they are immediately directed to an empty parking spot. The “cool factor” is sure to win their major brownie points! Not to mention improving employee experience as they gain back time every morning.

    4. Automated café
    Having their favorite drink ready and waiting at an automated office café. No more need to wait in long lines for their coffee, or even to make it themselves. Just pop in, grab and go.

There are many ways to improve the productivity and efficiency but in this post i just want to share with you all 3 top ways to make your workplace more productive. The first one is temperature. It is important for the employees to get a suitable temperature. An office place that is too hot or too cold leads to distractions and impaired cognitive function. However, not everyone is optimally productive at the same temperature. So it is very important for the workplace to offer a very a good temperature and comfort ability to the employees. Secondly, good lighting. Better lighting design and more access to natural light can significantly improve office worker productivity as well as general health and well-being. And lastly, calm ambience. Although ambient sounds, like the low-level bustle of a coffee shop, can sometimes boost productivity, noise consistently ranks as one of the biggest complaints in modern offices. Overheard conversations are especially disruptive, with knowledge workers citing it as the main culprit in preventing focused work. 
    In conclusion, all these characteristics is very important to be considered so that the employees could work happily.
