As for my grandfathers, both were born in the United States. My grandmother on my mothers side was born in Jamaica and wanted to move to the states to have a better life and go to college. As for my other grandmother who was born in Puerto Rico, moved to the states to be with my grandfather, who she'd met previously, and start a family. My grandmother Sandra worked very hard and was very patent when it came to moving to the states, my mother told me she worked countless hours to make money to move. She finally made enough. My great grandparents were not supportive of their relationship because my grandmother was not white. They saw her as not fit or good enough for their son. Both my grandmothers were minorities, which made life harder simply because of that. They never really shared much with my parents and they aren't here to ask, so i'm not so sure.
