Project # 1- Citizens For Safe Schools

For our first project we did an appreciation for Citizens For Safe Schools. We called Citizens For Safe Schools to find out how many volunteers they had. There was over 80 ( way more than we thought but it was a fun challenge). I got to work with some great people on that project. I worked with: Erica, Sydney, Abby and Manny.

We asked my step-mom if she could help us make little cheese-cake poppers to give to them. We Made about 150 of them so we could put 3-4 poppers in each goody bag for the volunteers.

We got some money from the book keeper and went to the dollar store and bought four bags of 25 party bags. We also Made each volunteer their own individual thank you card out of colored paper to go with their goody bags.

After we got done with their surprises we called them back to find the easiest way to deliver them but it was more difficult than we thought because they are not always there at one time. So a former worker came and picked them up from our school and would deliver them one at a time to hims former workers as well.

I will never forget the look on his face. He was so happy and grateful that we recognized them.

Project # 2- Softballs

We cut out four, 4 foot circle out of a half inch plywood. Then we sanded the edges to make them nice and smooth.

Our second step was to get them primed and painted. We put 2 coats of primmer on both sides of each board. After the primmer dried we painted 3 coats of baby yellow paint. We realized it was too light so we had to get a darker yellow. And then we Put another 2 coats of the darker paint on each side of the boards.

Next we printed off big softball laces and traced them onto each board. After we got them all traced we painted them red to make them look like softballs.

We ordered vinle letters and numbers for the years and what it was for. The letters spelled out "State Finals", "State Semi-Finals", "State Champions", and "Conference Champions". We stuck them to the top of the painted softballs and put the numbers of each year we won each conference. After we put on the letters we drilled 4 littleholes in each corner of each softball.

Last but not least we painted verathein ( clear coat paint) over the entire softball to make the numbers and letters stay and to prevent weather damage over the next few years. Finally we hung them up with wire on the out field fence around the varsity softball field so our fans will have past knowledge of the team they have come to support.
