It's the first time she'll be recognized as a official full national team player. She also plays in the U21 Nordic cup and they win blowing out Norway in the championship 4-1. Not long after she gets a $5,000 Athletic Support Grant from the US Olympic Committee. There is intense drama off the field and when Greg switches out their great goalkeeper Hope Solo against Brazil in the championship. They loose 4-0 because of it, their first lost in 18 months and greatest ever loss in the World Cup. Hope Solo completely goes off on Greg to the media, and gets excluded from everything, even the award ceremony. They qualify for the Olympics and have won all 14 games they've played under Pia's coaching. Things with Carli's parents still haven't gotten better and she decides to move out. A few days later she breaks her nose playing against Brazil. They beat Japan 4-2 and are in the championship against Brazil (the team they lost to in the World Cup). Carli gets the winning goal during overtime and they win gold. It's a total team triumph and they are as united as ever. Back in her hometown after the game, there is a parade thrown for Carli.
