Being an American is loving life and wanting the best it has to offer, it's more than being able to just say "I am an American." An American is someone who does not talk down on one, someone who pushes for a better FUTURE, someone who can stand up for what's RIGHT. A TRUE American will go rounds and rounds to make a better tomorrow and stand up for what's right, a true American knows life isn't peachy and EVERYONE knows that through history. Some ideas in the Hudgins article included the idea of loving life and going for what the best is to offer, and persistence for what is desired in our life. Two ideas presented in the letter where the idea that someone who was once restricted by society be free to do almost whatever and people had no judgement of of others as they were all around the same level of wealth.
