Summary:
White is considered the standard race. The white race is continuously being held higher than "inferior" races such as blacks. White people enjoy more benefits because of their skin color. Whiteness, White supremacy, and White privilege are three forces that successfully hides racism, while still allowing White people to make other races feel inferior while still upholding their innocence.

When racism is brought up we assume it doesn't exist because nothing is boldly happening. Such as slavery or segregation, but it is still prevalent today. An Indian boy in second grade his told by his that he is black, so he assumes he is black. When his parents found out they had to explain his race and how in actuality he is Native American. This proves race is based on what we say it is, not by what genetics prove. It is also brought up that racial discrimination is prevalent in law enforcement. A poll was shown and it was stated that white and black people both agree that "a clear majority of white people and Black people agree with the statement ‘Blacks are aggressive or violent.'” Knowing that a criminal’s race was the first aspect to come to mind shows that the legal system is inherently biased.

Summary:
Black males have been stereotyped since the Reconstruction era after the civil war.  Unarmed black males being being targeted because of preconceived ideas in the police mens eyes. The exploitation of these often-targeted victims’ criminal records, physical appearances, or misperceived attributes has been used to justify their unlawful deaths.This article investigates the historical criminalization of Black males and its connection to contemporary unarmed victims of law enforcement.
