         <description><![CDATA[<div>-She was born in Frankfort, Germany and set sail for South America at 50. She was raised in a family of famous publishers and artists that had connections all over Europe.<br><br>-She set up an all-female business producing luxurious flower-painted fabrics. Her father taught her all the skills she needed to know to make these full-color engravings.&nbsp;<br><br>-Maria enjoyed a very privileged childhood along with traditional girl’s education of reading,writing and household tasks. She learned to paint and print books along with pictures alongside her brothers.&nbsp;<br><br>-Maria became a well known artist and writer and published the book Blumenbuch “New book of flowers” in 1678. Her second book “Caterpillars, Their Wondrous Transformation and Peculier Nourishment from Flowers” released in 1683 after her daughter was born, the book was about metamorphosis and moths along with butterflies.&nbsp;<br><br>-The year of Maria’s death, her painting were purchased for Peter 1, the tsar of Russia.
