Many college students find it hard to make their money last til next payday, let alone have enough to put aside for a rainy day. Many financial bloggers have tips and tricks to help alleviate the financial burden. A great tip from BudgetDirect.com is to figure out your income and substract your monthly bills and living expanses. A good way to do this is to take all of your receipts for one month and separate them into two piles: your wants and your needs. Add together your needs and subtract that from your total income. After setting aside some money for savings, learn more about your spending habits. Do you spend alot of money on fast food? Start going grocery shopping and start meal prepping. Having quick meals is such a luxury but having a yummy, healthy food puts more money back in your pocket according to Anotiona Franiz from the business insider. Can't cook? Try checking out Pinterest they have some great recipes and even preface shopping lists! Now its very easy to get carried away at the grocery store. A helpful trick is to stay with what is on your lists! Use great coupon apps like Flipp to create even more savings.Another great money saving technique is to have no spend days. These are days one or two times a week where your goal is not to spend any money at all. The next day reward yourself with a small ( if possibly free ) treat like a walk at the beach or a visit to a museum et together with your significant other and make it a week event. Keep a tally of how much each of you spend. Whomever spends the most has to cook the winner dinner! Saving money is sometimes not easy. We all want the latest IPhone or a night on the town. But in the end it is worth it when you are in a place of financial security.
Word count 327
Works Cited

“7 Tips to Make Your Money Last Longer – Budget Direct Blog.” Google, Google, www.google.com/amp/s/www.budgetdirect.com.au/blog/7-tips-to-make-your-money-last-longer.html/amp#ampshare=https://www.budgetdirect.com.au/blog/7-tips-to-make-your-money-last-longer.html.

Farzan, Antonia. “I Cooked All of My Meals at Home for a Week - and It Was Much Easier than I Expected.” Business Insider, Business Insider, 26 June 2015, www.businessinsider.com/i-cooked-all-my-own-meals-for-a-week-to-save-money-2015-6.
