The Adventure of Tintin is about a young reporter , Tintin who buys an antique model ship from the market called The Unicorn. His curiosity begin when a man comes out to buy the ship from him and later on warns Tintin to get rid of the model. Out of the blue, another man shows up with the same intention but he flatly refuses. Tintin makes a research about The Unicorn and found out that the real ship was once belongs to Captain Francis Haddock. His adventures start when someone stole the model ship from Tintin's apartment, looking for the scroll that holds the important part of the Unicorn. The story continues when he is kidnapped by Sakharine in a massive ship, the place where he accidentally meets Captain Haddock, the descendant of Francis Haddock.

Based on this movie, there are some traits of Tintin and Captain Haddock that i would like to list down. First and foremost, Tintin can be seen as an intelligent individual. His brain works like a machine that never stop producing something new. This is shown in the scene where he is wondering around the market and finds out a symbol of unicorn on the antique model ship. The dealer starts to come out with facts about the model ship but Tintin clearly knows more about it more than the dealer himself. He actually memorizes some history behind the ship as his knowledge are on another level. The next proof is when Tintin and Captain Haddock finally manages to escape from Sakharine. They are at the middle of the sea on a boat that they stole from Sakharine's ship. The whole scene again comes out with Tintin making a conclusion about the mystery of The Unicorn. He believes that there are 3 models of the ship in this world, one is with Sakharine, Tintin has one but not now and the other one is with the Sultan of Morocco. He also mentions that Sakharine get his own reason for locking Haddock in the ship before instead of killing him. It is because the legend says,'only a True Haddock' can solve the secret of The Unicorn.

Secondly, Tintin can be describes as an even tempered person. He never really shows his anger or any negative emotion in the movie. Tintin is mostly excited all the time about solving the mystery behind The Unicorn with Captain Haddock. This is portrayed in the scene where both of them trying to escape from Sakharine's ship. Tintin sacrifices himself into the room of the sleepy sailors to grab the key as Haddock asks him to. He possibly thinks that the key leads to the exit. Once Haddock opens up the room, it is just a dusty store with dozen boxes of alcohol as he innocently takes several bottles of them. If I am in Tintin's shoes, I would punch Haddock in the face. But Tintin is a cool tempered boy, his emotion is not even bother by that. Another proof that highlights this trait is the scene when both of them again are on the boat. Haddock accidentally hits Tintin's head with a rower making him collapsed right away. That drunken captain lights a fire in a boat and even burns the rower for it. Tintin do shouts at Haddock, but he never let the anger flows in him. Once Haddock sober up a little and blames himself, Tintin quickly stops him saying that was enough. Tintin manages his emotion pretty well, he never let any feelings get on his way to solve the mystery.

Move on to Captain Haddock traits, he is obviously a huge alcoholic who can't drink anything but alcoholic drink. His alcoholic side portrayed in a lot of scenes but one of them is when Tintin flies the plane of Sakharine's men. The tank is almost out of fuel and Haddock is in charge to fill it with rubbing alcohol. As expected, this alcoholic captain always destroys the plan. He left to the fuel tank of the plane, leaving Tintin with a bottle of empty one. However, Haddock manages to control the situation. He burped out right into the fuel tank as the scent of alcohol activates the whole plane for much longer than expected. Captain Haddock also get drunk in the infirmary at the small town, right after he almost die of thirst at the desert. Snowy the dog pulls trick on him as Haddock accidentally slurps on rubbing alcohol. When the drunken captain comes, the story starts to begin. He completely remembers the previous words of his grandfather about The Unicorn, Sir Francis Haddock and even Red Rackhams. Captain Haddock also once puts Tintin life in danger due to his obsession to alcohol. Tintin struggles on his life from the restless sailors just to get the key for him. It ends up the key is for his alcohol store.

Next, Captain Haddock could be seen as an absolutely loyal friend. In the movie, we can see how both of them always together and carry each others back. Haddock never intends to leave Tintin all alone no matter how dangerous or difficult it gets. For example, when they are running away from Sakharine, Haddock is already there with the boat. Sakharine 's men chase them all over the ship, he could just leave if he want to but he chooses to stay for his friend. They ends up getting on the boat together and manage to keep going to their destination. The other proof is when the plane crashes on the desert. Tintin nearly just about to die as his head is like 10 centimeters away from the blade of the plane. Snowy the dog tries to pull Tintin's shirt but it doesn't work. Suddenly, Haddock with his parachute jumps onto the plane, grabbed Tintin by waist and throw him aside. But things doesn't always go smoothly. His parachute stuck still at the spinning blade makes him a spinning Haddock.
