It's a good thing that no one has to worry or feel insecure about someone being better now that everyone is equal. The definition of equality is one of the contributors. We are taught that everyone is unique but the story claims that everyone is "equal" . Their definition is different to ours.  In the story everyone is the same with no unique characteristics. "The definition of equality in this story is very ironic. In the story they claim that everyone is equal, yet there is a very definition of equal in today's world. In the present day, we say equality is about raising people up to be equal and celebrating uniqueness. The story's definition of equal is bringing people down to a certain level of dull. They make people with intelect and remarkable talents normal and uninteresting so that everybody can be as normal as the rest of the world. In the quote "She must
