I always thought Islam is sustainable because its cover all aspect of our life. But I don't find the reason why our world not become sustainable like prophet time. After this class, I manage to understand/link that we can't have the sustainable because of our system(secularism). Islam has provided us with laws(shariah) and only if we follow all of the laws then we can be sustain. Mixing secularism(separation of religion from civic affair and the state) and Islam like what our country do today only make Islam below the hierarchy, mean we make Islam not so important than the system we have now. So Islam JUST a religion for us, not the way of life.

Example and explaination: loan have interest(Riba which is haram in Islam). PTPTN loan have 1% interest rate and the faster we pay for the PTPTN loan the less interest we being charged. While in Quran, in Surah Al Imran(130-131) Allah clearly prohibits the practice of Riba for the Muslims. Based on this example, I could say that we are being unjust about the real Islamic law. As interest going to make the poor people poorer and rich people richer, so this is not going to make us sustain in the future.

I start to refer back to Al Quran as it contain laws by Allah. Not just read(tilawah), but understand the meaning hidden behind every verse(tadabbur). For example, Surah Al-Alaq not only say about the important of studying like what I always heard and learn in school. But its also emphasize the way knowledge is transmitted from generation to generation by using writing(important of writing to our future). Going back to Quran made me clear about the reason behind what Islam teach. Not just merely belief something because people said so. I want to keep reasoning why things happen and learn the wisdom behind it.

Topic Sejahtera that being discuss in class really shock me so much thru example from my classmate. Before this, I just understand that Sejahtera is safe (aman makmur), no war and we can be happy like that (I'm such a simple thinker before)- this only concept of Sejahtera that human made.

Through discussions about Sejahtera, I realize that we far away from the real Sejahtera (Sejahtera in Islam)- which is take everything from Allah's law then we got Sejahtera.
Islam was not established.
starting point, from the law (secularism) we use now. Islam was not established.

so many things that we can point out as NOT SEJAHTERA.

Social: people used self-interest as center to do something. LGBT issue- people not doing anything about it. Just criticize (kecam) saying it's wrong. Some justify LGBT, saying that we cannot discriminate and it's their freedom. I see many Muslim Malaysia TikToker made themselves clear that they part of LGBT community, the TikTok account not private so anyone can see what they share. However, people let them be. LGBT people not scare to show that they wrong now.

Environment: Deforestation. We cut down tree to make paper, road, houses, furniture. We got benefit from that BUT the effect after that is weather become more hot, landslide, flood. All of sudden we want to change our game by re -ground the tree (tanam semula) to solve all this problem that I stated. Cut so many big tree in one day, then re-ground some tree that going to take decades for its to grow as big as the one we cut. One day all tree we cut down, what left is medium size tree that we grow now.

Economy: obviously using human made money (unlimited, can be print), should use dinar & dirham because it's limited. Print so much paper money to use, then quantity of paper money increase but the price of goods also increases (Hyperinflation). So, Malaysia want to be like Venezuela?- money have no value in Venezuela.

Sejahtera to myself and to my family (my belonging)
I wanted to buy a new shirt but I kept thinking what should I do with my old shirt. Because I don’t fit in some of my clothes anymore and some of them have been used for too long. Instead of throw it away (I usually do this because I’m the youngest child in my family so I don’t have anyone to give me my shirt).

I find other solution which is giving my cloth to my distant cousin (I just meet them and found out they lost their parents not long ago). Some shirt that look shabby become rag.

[I know people usually do give their old shirt to others but this is NEW to me because I don't grow much and I only buy new clothes once a year. If I count, maybe I have around 10-20 clothes to wear outside my house (I mean, baju untuk jalan-jalan). So, I keep my shirt from 14 y/o till now I'm 19 y/o.]

Measurement
Before class, I think that measure that we as human create is good for us so that we can improve ourselves. For example, to me measure to be a good human is to do good things for other. However, this kind of measurement ONLY for our self to look good in front of others or to be accepted by our community. I don't even think about 'what Allah want me to be'. Allah want us (human) to be true (convey the truth) NOT good. Why? because good to human is someone that can tolerate things that according to what they want(self-interest). But someone who convey the truth follow what Quran said because Quran is the Laws that Allah made(Qadarallah). So, now I know, I follow qadar/measure that I made Not what Allah want. At the end of the day, sustainability can't be achieve.

I can't change other people measure easily, but why not I start with people around me. So, I talk to my friend via Google Meet. I ask their opinion about the measurement in our education system. They said its all about a good CGPA, have scholarship so that later on when they graduate they will be accepted in company or any government institution that they want.
I expecting this answer from them, so I begin to ask them ' do you think our education system make us smarter or dumber?' and I said that our education system that based on CGPA and pointer only make us focus on CGPA but not the knowledge. It not develop our mind, but keep on making us to memorize things with a little bit of understanding. At the end of the discussion, they all agree that this kind of measurement FAIL to prepare us to face the real world.
