It reminded me, message-wise, of the mural work that you see on the street, which carries that impactful message behind it. I do not remember the artist's name, but this section stood out to me, mostly due to the quote "civilization started when the first angry person cast a word instead of a rock".

This quote specifically stood out to me the most this trip. I feel that this can apply to today's day in age because I feel that some people will simply turn their cheek because it doesn't affect them. People did this during the holocaust, civil rights movements and even when native Americans were trying to fight for their rights. Then those who turn their cheek are surprised when no one is there for them.

I think this quote, which was one of the last ones in the exhibit, really hit me because children should never have to think like this or feel this way. its devistating and his story in itself, seeing this time from a childs view was heartbreaking

the quote is impactful in this day and age. Technology shapes so many things in our lives that did not have the same effect years ago, especially when it came to news and movements. This quote can be interpreted however the viewer feels fit, but I think it means that technology can not be relied o,n and you can not rely on someone or something else to fix your problems for you. stand up for YOU.

Jesse Owens is another figure that I had projects on as a kid. He protested during the 1936 Olympics in Berlin, which Hitler attended. He made his mark on track and field, being known as one of the greats in the sport. the track and field was talked about a lot, which was great because I feel that many dismiss this sport when it is a great sport to both watch and be apart of. There was a video that played and it said "they [African americans] couldn't just be good, they had to be better" and that stood out to me because not only did that apply in that situation but looking back, it seemed that was the standard held for just about everything for African Americans which is awful.
