Jada - A place in nature that calms me in the winter back home is going for a long drive then just looking at what I’m surrounded by, seeing how beautiful my home land is. Knowing my land by heart and knowing that my ancestors survived the harsh winter months. It brings me peace

Rosa Lynn

What calms me down back home in Clyde River is walking to the ‘big rock’ with a friend (bff) and just talk about life and what not. The big rock is isolated from town and the walk could be 30 minutes up to an hour; depending on how fast or slow you walk

Why? Because we just need to be with someone sometimes, and we need to get fresh air. It’s YOUR time to just talk about anything without anyone (except your friend) listening and without judgement.

What is a place in nature that calms me when i go there?

It’s a place where I’m out on the land and its nice and quiet in the summer like when i was a kid with my family in iqaluit, we go boating and camp with my grandparents. We sometimes practice shooting with small 22 gun in a pond, go out boating to hunt seals or caribou. Its so calming when out on the land to refresh yourself.

What us a place in nature that calms me when I go there -

The place that calms and refreshes me is a place called Iqalugaarjuit, Iqalugaarjuit is where we go fishing during winter/spring time while the ice and the trial is still useable. This spring, I learned how to drive myself to the lake as I really wanted to go fishing. I followed people that knows the trial and used our skidoo to drive myself following the people that was heading there. I love the fish there that I get to catch. But i have never gone there during summer time yet.
