Common problem of owner/farmer agripreneurs is that they are facing higher OVERHEAD COST over the generated revenue. The tendency is that the owner/ farmer-agripreneur shoulders the financial burden because there is no sustainability in the farm operations. If that continues, the farm will eventually SHUTDOWN.

Given the case, we still encourage people to engage in agriculture.
BUT "are we inspiring people to make money in agriculture? Or losing it?
HOW CAN WE SOLVE IT?
By identifying the root cause of why is overhead cost higher than income being generated?
Then how can we "make operations pay for overhead cost"?
Root-Cause#1 ,as discussed by Ms
 Morris, lack of proper documentation especially in financials. One cant do appropriate decisions w/o proper financial understanding
ACTION/TIPS: A. Make financial recording processes easier
B. No expansion plan w/o compensation plan policy

Root-Cause#2 Engaging with too many farm operations (systems and processes)
ACTION: Identify w/c makes money, w/c product/service  can be scaled up, w/c is filler Products/services, and w/c is contributing more cost than earnings.
Then, give more efforts for those that makes money, scale those that can be scale up, put only some effort for filler products/services, and remove/stop/don't continue those that contribute losses than gains.

 
Root-Cause#3 Attitude/Mindset
"Tawad Mindset"
-can cause another's business partner close w/c can impact own operations
Additional notes:
-The labor will work given the quality and quantity if the price is right and given at the right time,
-The owner/farmer agripreneur will pay the right price at the right time if the quality and quantity of work done is right
-Communication, Management, collaboration, and teamwork of owner-labor/employee is very important.

As private sector, we should avail opportunities offered by the Government so that we can help small farmers and fisherfolks get it also. Let us be a way for top level opportunities reach the bottom areas where it is indeed needed.
