         <description><![CDATA[<p>The Missouri Compromise was a  law that tried to put a stop of a tension betwen slavery. By passing the law, the U.S. Congress annoucned Missouri is now a state that allowed slavery and Maine being considered as a free state.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>In the Compromise of 1850 it was revealed that Carlifornia would be a free state, Utah and New Mexico Terriitory would vote on the issue of slavery, ban slave trade from Washington D.C. Slavery would be permitted in the region. This allowed some states to become free states and some as slave states. Stephen Douglass ended up passing through this law.</p>]]></description>

         <title>Fugutive Slave Act(1850)</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Fugitive Slave Act were federal laws that allowed for the capture and the return of escaped slaves within the territory of the North. What this means is that slaves that were able to escape the south and were found in the North had to be be returned back even if they were in a free state. During this time most owners put a bounty on the slaves for the people in the North to bring them back. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Uncle Tom's Cabin was officially published in the year 1852. It gave both the North and the South different reactions towards it. The North put their enitre attention for the horrors that Stowe depicted in the book. The South tried to have the book banned and started attacking its potrayal of slavery by accusing Stowe for writing false accusations of them. </p>]]></description>

Northerners ruhsed to the terriotory to create a region of antisavery while the Southeners ruhsed there to make the region of slavery being there.</p><p><br/></p>]]></description>

During a politcal debare between the states a souther congressman Preston Books beats the senator with a cane leaving everyone in shock. After the event many Southener sent gifts to the man supporting his actions, some even sent a cane and declared another beating to the Senator.</p>]]></description>

         <title>Dred Scott Decision(1857)</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Dred Scott was an enslaved man whose slaveholder took him to live in a free territory in Missouri before bringing him back to Missouri and Dred Scott suing to end his slavery. On March 6th, 1857 the court declared Dred Scott not a free man. Turney would go on to say that Dred Scott was only to free one man did not forbid slavery in any territory. While Dred Scott won his case.</p>]]></description>

Lincoln who was a Repblucian,Brekinridge a democratic, Bell/Constutionol Union, and Douglas who was a democratic. Lincoln ended up winning the election for presidency. He ended up winning due to being well known for his actions as a candiate aswell as promsing to decrease taxes. He was given the majority of the Northwhere the states were anti slavery.</p>]]></description>

While the bill was passed by the house many Southern Senators desired Nebraska to become a slave terriory.  The ending of the Missouri Compromise the act would split the terriotry into two states. Which leads to Nebraska below Kansas. Nebraska which turns into a free state and Kansas being a slave state.</p>]]></description>
