What I learned about our grade is that almost all of us think communication is just talking, but it's not. For example, dogs wag their tails when we get come because they are happy to see us, they don't tell us this using words. They bring there toy to us when they want to play, the whine when they are hungry. Hudson kicks his leg when he is happy, he cries when he is upset. We don't all need words to communicate.

You can use other types of communication like sign language and gestures. I also have to speak to be successful.

I learned that from the communication lesson that most people feel that verbal communication is the best way to converse. I felt that people think that verbal is the best because is is easier to talk then to write and to get all your feelings into one thing without the writing struggle. I really liked what Sean said by including other animals like dogs. He said that dogs main source of communication in non- verbal, because they wag their tails when they are happy and whine when they are sad. Another thing I saw was that, on the data many people said that they would rather speak instead of write, I think this is interesting because we are writing our thoughts and many of us are doing well but others are struggling. I think that many more people are doing better than the amount of the people that said it was hard, so I think that some of us came out of our comfort zone and felt scratchy but did well anyways.

I learned that most people found communicating with writing harder than speaking. Quite a few people thought that your ability to communicate does not effect how successful one could be. I found that interesting because if you can't communicate with your peers, some work will not get done. Communication goes further than just talking and texting. Almost every living thing has their own way to communicate. Think about cats. When they're angry or annoyed, their tail twitches. They might not be able to talk, but they can still communicate.

Does your ability to communicate matter in how successful you will be?
yes | 74 | 88.1%
no | 10 | 11.9%

Which type of communication do you think will determine how successful you will be?
verbal (spoken) | 73 | 86.9%
non-verbal (written) | 11 | 13.1%

Your communication and creativity expands more when you are with a partner or group because you are communicating by sharing ideas and learning from other people ideas and making them better. Everyone would not be able to do this if they worked alone because ideas would stay the same and not improve as much as it would if you were in a group. This is why communication is so important. I noticed many 6th graders are able to communicate and grow as learners, because data shows communication makes an impact in students learning.

It's how they express their feelings to us in the most expressive way. Besides whining, and of course growling and barking. Like this dog for example, he/she is using his tail to show he's alert and watching.

Most people put down I don't know on some questions instead of asking the teacher what it means, so most of the people who put I don't know are most likely to not be assertive. A good speech is almost the same as writing, so in my opinion, you need good writing to understand, and speak just as well as you write.

I learned not many people like writing as much as people like talking ,and up to 65% like talking more than righting (35% do like non-verbal communication).I know this because of the project we did in p1 and images show this too, i also very much agree with Kenzie.I now realize my data was wrong, looking over others, the data is actutaly 86.9% verbal and 13.1% non-verbal.
