ROLES:

Producer: A living thing that makes its own food using sunlight, water, and air through a process called photosynthesis.

Consumer: A living thing that cannot make its own food and must eat other living things for energy. They eat the producers or other consumers.

Decomposer: A living thing that breaks down dead plants and animals into smaller pieces, returning important nutrients to the soil. When plants and animals die, decomposers break them down, which helps the soil stay healthy for new plants to grow.

Once you have made your choice you will provide two or more examples of a type of organism that plays this role.

You will then back up your answer by providing why it is either a producer, consumer, or decomposer.
