Kid Cudi has been one of my favorite artists since 2009 when he released one of my all-time favorites "Day N Nite" after signing to the GOOD music label, his style of music is one that I've tried to mimic in the past because there's some reason I just resonate with and feel very connected to his lyrics, his vocals & the beats that he sings and raps to.
Kid Cudi and I have been through some very similar struggles, and have a similar look on life.
I think I'm currently going through a similar experience to what happened before he hit success, and I'm influenced by the way he speaks about going through fear and embracing it (Tedx Talks, 2015), struggles are an everyday thing and it really depends on how you look at it, if you just put yourself through what you know is going to help you, every little bit counts and will eventually make a difference.

Tedx Talks.

Tech N9ne has been in my opinion, the biggest influence in the underground hip-hop industry and has helped shape it into what it is today, his devastating, speedy flow matched with unique dark complex beats has had people bopping their heads for years, in less than 20 years Tech N9ne has earned 3 gold records & sold over 2 million albums. Tech N9ne has been the biggest influence on my lyric writing style. I think my work ethic and some skills come from techs ideology and skill, a lot of the boys I used to rap with when I was younger used to love freestyle and would diss people who wrote their lyrics but knowing that tech n9ne basically never freestyles has kept me strong in knowing that someday I could write influential music as he does.
I pulled some writing techniques from his style in the past including rehearsing and listening back until I get it sounding how I want it to and using words with syllables that fill space, mathematically arranged into a unique flow with the rhythm. Born on the same day as the lead singer Jim Morrison's death he says that he was inspired by Jim Morrison's "strange spirit that possessed him" and his ability to evolve by working with other artists (HNHH, 2018). Tech N9ne says that if it wasn't for the song People are strange Tech N9ne wouldn't have started the record label "Strange Music." (Krizztian, 2011).

Hot New Hip Hop.
