No. We have periods every month and some times it is very painful. Also we give birth to kids and we have to carry them for 9 months and endure their kicks. Some people feel that females should serve the army but they can’t even handle a simple period simulator which isn’t even as painful as our normal cramps.

Although I feel that they shouldn’t serve, I feel that females should participate by helping in other ways such as in technological aspects.

I think it should definitely remain not compulsory as women are not built like men and some things in the army may be catered to men. However, if women want to join the army they should be allowed to and not looked down upon by others.

I think the current system (obligation for men but optional for women) works. When the Singaporean military was set up (1957), it took about 10 years (1967) for them to accept women into the military. In those 10 years the military felt that it was unnecessary for them to join the forces due to anti-feminist mindsets— now that more manpower is required, they should stick to what they implemented; because they kinda signed up for it. In those 10 years, they were deemed useless in terms of fighting for their country and it’s not like women got stronger so suddenly becos you no more people now you want them to enlist 💔 (at least they got choice now la)

Girls should not be forced into combat NS. Guys were basically born stronger in all the muscle parts. Studies show that adult males have around 50 % more upper‑body strength and about 30 % more lower‑body strength compared to adult female.
That kinda matters in military tasks like carrying gear, dragging injured teammates, or handling heavy weapons. The disadvantages cannot be overcome by training.

However, different gender is good at different ways to serve the nation. With their more higher emotional quotient, females can serve better in other non-combat ways, like community work, education, elder care, healthcare support, logistics or civil defence.
