Using the tool ePals in my classroom could yield so many benefits for myself as a educator and the students around me. There are many other tools and websites that enable such a interaction with students across the globe or just another county over. However, ePals enables this on a more personnel touch, and for the individual student it allows more freedom on where geographically they want to speak to someone. By using this website, I can give the students a location and a subject whether its multiplication for instance, and we can see how another country might solve the different problems in another way. Or a simpler example is just allowing them to be pen-pals and corresponding about their daily life in school. For my perspective as a educator it enables me to speak to another teacher, and connect and socialize different ideas and techniques when it comes to teaching. One of more exciting features is the fact you can filter certain aspects whether its language, school subject or even classroom size. By doing this it helps with students that might be English-language learners and find other students that speak the same language as them fluently.
One draw back on the site is since it is a open website you have to monitor the students conversations with other students and be aware of what is going on digitally in your classroom. Overall there are a lot of great and useful features and I will definitely use it in the future with my own classrooms.
