When tragic events occur, it is always good to talk about it no matter how hard it is. On top of the same note, a Bereavement Centre also provides a safe place to be where there are people present who can listen and understand each other at a more deeper level. By reaching out into the community they are looking forward to creating cultivating relationships with other stakeholders and associations around the area. After getting approved by the Quebec presbytery for the church’s request to be able to of sell the building to the Voluntas Commemoration incorporation, there was a plan that in a twelve year time slot, they could attempt to achieve their updated mission and vision. Over the twelve year time period their desire is to implement a Bereavement Centre in partnership with a close by organization, called, West Island Palliative Care Residence. The intentions of fostering a Bereavement Centre is to provide support to individuals who are facing the powerful stress due to loss in their life. As well as in time, they also plan on adding a Wellness Centre based on services already being provided by groups. The variety of groups would be stuff like, healing pathways, Al-Anon; a mutual support group that helps one another who struggles with the pain of being affected by another persons drinking. There is also groups for overeaters and recovery, which people regularly need at the facility.
