But why is everything about Lolita so censored? The original book shows the story of humbert and Dolores, an 12 years old girl, whose mother died, and is forced to live with her stepfather, but the interesting thing here, Is the fact that Humbert confuses a romantic relationship with an abusive one, he literally thinks he loves her, and she feels the same. The whole book can actually create the feeling of compassion for Humbert, you can feel bad for him, because it was written by his point of view, but even the rape is the most normal part here, Going back to the 1997 movie, it´s actually one of the best movies I’ve ever seen, the differences between the book and the film doesn´t make you feel uncomfortable, the photography, actors and script are amazing. All the complains that we as a public could have are: Dominique was 15 years old when she shot the film, and se did a lot of sex scenes, also, having a teenager so exposed can damage their mental health and self-esteem because of the sexualization their victims of.
