My mom was raised in the Pentecostal Church. For those that aren't familiar it's an "old-school" form of Christianity rooted in modesty and the Holy Spirit. As for my dad, he was raised Southern Baptist but raised us in a more new school Nondenominational church. Until about the last 10 years where my dad found financial success after his contracting business took off. Being in an interracial relationship taught me a lot about the challenges interracial couples face. Luckily I was raised in a home where I never had to question if dating a black woman was "okay".
