This experience was one that I will definitely remember! Being in the OR and learning about the different surgeries was fascinating because I would have never imagined that there were so many different pieces of technology and tools used throughout a single surgery - especially in orthopedics. Being able to physically participate in the event made this day even better! Cutting through the bone with the surgical saw was so much fun and I absolutely loved it! Going into the event, I had the mindset that we would not be allowed to participate, but rather simply observe. So, when the surgeons in the OR encouraged and included us in the event alongside the foundation members, it was evident how they wanted us to learn by a hands on experience within their chosen surgical field.
