Cantonese is my native language. I am honored to be able to teach what I love to the next generation. I enjoy teaching my language to English Only students who learn Cantonese as a second language. Why do we have to switch English class and Mandarin class between different classrooms?

Why can't we just teach one classroom both in Mandarin and English? It's much easier for teacher to build relationship with one classroom. The students know when to speak a certain language to you when the teacher teach both language.

I am a native speaker and bilingual in English and Filipino and also have a BCLAD/bilingual authorization in Filipino.I switched to teach in the Filipino language pathway after teaching General Ed for several years because I took over the class after our longtime teacher retired. My kids are alumni of the Filipino biliteracy program at Bessie want to support and provide continuity in the program (sorry for the boldface and large font-I don't know how to edit this)_

What is SFUSD’s commitment to the California Seal of Biliteracy? This was once the goal for our students, thus the expansion of language programs K-12 within the last decade. Now SFUSD is already moving in the opposite direction, and at what cost? This is a huge waste of resources.

I want to continue to support and sustain the Filipino language pathway in the district. Our school , which was the original flagship for the Fillipino bilingual program has shifted from being a biliteracy to a world language pathway due to changing student.enrollment. I would like to see this program, which has been in place since the 70s, continue and evolve. So far, there is an increase in interest among students who are not of Filipino descent to enroll in the program.

Should we be teaching mathematics in Spanish in first grade since we have new comers and students whose home language is in Spanish? Currently I am teaching math in Engish and I will be piloting the curriculum in English. Rational is that many students are reclassifying in the upper grades. So yes or no on teaching Math in Spanish for first grade?
