I'm currently living in Lisbon studying Photography.

Being from Madeira, nature has a strong presence in my body of work and I try to explore the nuances of co-existing with it through still and moving image. I'm really interested in Fashion and Editorial Photography.

Je suis spécialisé dans la création de contenu corporate & institutionnel, l'évènementiel ainsi que les portraits.

Rafaela Rodrigues is an author from Madeira who grew up in Machico, very close to the sea. Since childhood, she has loved stories. She studied Design at the University of Madeira and holds a master's degree in Illustration from the Escola Superior Artística do Porto - Guimarães.

She collaborates with galleries such as Ó!Galeria Ilustração, Ó!Galeria Cerâmica (Porto), and Circus Network (Porto). In 2018, she was selected for the Encontro Internacional de Ilustração de São João da Madeira (Aveiro). In 2021 and 2023, she was selected for the BIG Prize with illustrations from the books "O Pescador" and "A Bordadeira," respectively.

In 2021, the book Vidas (Des)Conhecidas: Lourdes Castro, published by Cadmus with text by Carlos Diogo Pereira, received support from the artist herself and the High Patronage of the President of the Portuguese Republic.

In 2022, she released, through Cadmus Publishing, the work Uma Casa sem Nome para Depois, the result of her master's project, written by João Giz and illustrated by herself. Some illustrations from this book were selected for the 2023 National Illustration Catalog.

My name is Paola Gomes and I am an artist with a degree in Visual Arts from the University of Madeira. Currently, I'm in the second year of my Master's degree in Cultural Management, at the same university. I have experience in artistic activities with children and a comprehensive training in cultural management, with a focus on the production of events. In the field of education, I had the experience of being an assistant professor of drawing at the university, contributing significantly to the training of foreign students who had just entered. In addition, I served as curator of the exhibition "50 Editions of Book Fair", inserted in the context of the 50th anniversary of the Funchal Book Fair, where I deepened my skills in curating and organizing cultural events. Currently, I am curator of the Impulse Gallery in Funchal, a new project that I lead with the goal of promoting emerging artists and dynamizing the local artistic scene. I am constantly looking for new opportunities to apply my experience and contribute significantly to enriching the cultural and artistic landscape.

Maria João Gouveia, Funchal, 1992

Master in Interactive Media Design and Bachelor's in Art and Multimedia from the University of Madeira and the Faculty of Fine Arts of Cuenca, Spain. She has completed various courses and workshops in different fields such as 'Draw your story' in the Czech Republic, 'Art Therapy and Creativity' at the University of Málaga, and a Master in Art, Science, and Technology in Nova Gorica, Slovenia.

She worked at the Kreisler Art Gallery in Madrid, where she participated in art fairs such as Arte Madrid. In Bulgaria, she collaborated with the In the Palace International Short Film Festival, where she took part in various cultural events and represented the festival at the Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Festival in France. Passionate about the arts, she has participated in theater productions and television series and started mural painting in 2021, which she has been deepening.

She currently works in the Multimedia Division of the Regional Secretariat for Education, Science, and Technology. She works with mural painting using different techniques, art with dried flowers and resin, as well as art workshops for children.

Architect by profession with experience in Portugal and abroad, however it is in drawing that I find my refuge and passion. I am a self-taught artist, with a wide range of tastes in relation to art. I love drawing, from small watercolors to realistic portraits. CORVO is a Portuguese rapper who had his first contact with Hip-Hop in the early 2000s. His passion for Hip-Hop was boiling in the artist's veins, and at the age of 15, he started practicing breakdance and getting involved with the culture. He released the EP "Insular" at the beginning of 2020, produced by Lisbon's DKbeats and distributed by SirScratch's Contentor Records. At the end of 2020, CORVO released his first original album, "Ponto de Ruptura," produced by Oznofa Music, featuring a collaboration with AllStar 2018 LauGodDog and singles like “Doutor” and “Não Faz Sentido,” the latter having a music video. At the end of 2022, "Belladonna" was released, mixed by Thomas and with a music video by Mário Pereira. "Belladonna" is the face of the new project the artist is working on, "Pedras, Rosas e Velas." Mafalda Bompastor, born in 1999 in Braga, holds a degree in Design from the University of Madeira (2018-2021) and has nurtured a passion for art from an early age. In addition to her career in design and documentary photography, the artist views the human body as a living canvas, where art manifests in unique and personal ways.

Initially, tattooing was a fun activity, a way to explore new techniques and challenge the traditional limits of design. Her talent and passion for handpoke—a manual tattooing technique—quickly caught the attention of friends who encouraged her to professionalize this skill.

With the necessary support, what started as a hobby turned into a promising career. Currently, Mafalda tattoos handpoke at the AB Concept Fashion & Tattoo studio, in the old part of the city.

Mafalda hopes that the handpoke method, known for its precision and delicacy, will become more recognized and less intimidating for some people. She believes the technique can demystify the idea that tattoos are painful or aggressive, promoting a new form of artistic expression that values the connection between the artist and the body. For Mafalda, each tattoo is a unique collaboration, celebrating the individuality and beauty of each person.

Carolina Marcos Caldeira (1989) is a Portuguese artist born in Funchal, Madeira Island. With an academic background in psychological sciences and communication and advertising, she has been developing artistic and research projects as a creative director, producer, author, and director. Her enthusiasm for the different layers that make up (her) universe is also reflected in the diversity of media through which she explores her artistic expression, often tending towards analog collage, photographic composition, film, and poetry.

The search for hidden poetry in every corner is a constant in her work and daily life, so the result of her residency work will stem from various internal and external journeys, and the component of situationism, above all.

TIAGO PINTO (b. 2000, Câmara de Lobos) is a visual artist who develops his work with an interest in his surroundings, capturing spaces and experiences from both urban and rural daily life. With a degree in Visual Arts from the University of Madeira, he uses drawing and painting as central mediums in his creative practice.

In his professional journey, he has already participated in several group exhibitions, such as "what happened to the carrot?" (2022) at the Salão Nobre of the Baltazar Dias Municipal Theatre, and "kids" (2022) at Anona – Youth Art Gallery. Currently, he is pursuing a Master's degree in Painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon and is a member of the artist collective 'melro'. RODRIGO COSTA (b. 1999, Funchal) is a visual artist focused on the concepts of play and childhood applied to everyday life. Using mediums such as painting, sculpture, performance, video, and installation, he is dedicated to creating markedly "amateur" and "DIY" objects and situations that encourage self-reflection and changes in social behavior. In 2020, he graduated with a First Class BA (Hons) in Fine Art from Coventry University, and he now also works as a curator and cultural producer. REGINA SILVA (b. 2000, Funchal) is a visual artist who explores issues of the absurd and the useless, engaging in attitudes that deny reason and rationality. Using a dissimulated language, the artist represents laughable and futile situations, provokes the ridicule of the artistic object, and reappropriates trivial moments of everyday life. She employs mechanisms such as non-words, the unpredictability of chance, paradox, lies, subjectivity, doubt, and contradiction. Favoring the object, her production includes various media such as painting, sculpture, installation, and tapestry.

FRANCISCO BRANCO (b. 2002, Funchal) is an illustrator who employs various experimental techniques, ranging from printmaking to painting, in his visual language. His work primarily addresses narrative and comedic themes, and he has a great passion for comics. Graduating in 2023 from Falmouth University, UK, he has participated in several published comic projects such as: "The Eyes that Listen to the World," a collective publication about the life and work of artist António Aragão, which won the award for Best National Work with Alternative Distribution at the 4th edition of the Bandas Desenhadas Awards in 2022, and "The Theater, a Place (Between) Worlds," a narrative about the history of Teatro Municipal Baltazar Dias in Funchal. O meu percurso artístico começou no secundário quando escolhi estudar Artes Visuais. O que me cativou nas artes desde sempre foi o desenho. Apesar das artes estarem associadas à plasticidade e manipulação de matéria para criar, nunca fui boa em artes manuais. Encontrei no desenho e na pintura algo que me fascinava e me permitia estar no meu mundo. Licencei-me em Arte e Multimédia na universidade da Madeira. Viver da arte durante 6 anos escolares deu-me certezas que estava onde queria estar e deu-me ferramentas para desenvolver-me melhor enquanto artista. Desde 2008 que fotografo. A fotografia está no centro de tudo. Do que somos na nossa mais pura essência. Seja a pessoa fotografada, seja quem está a fotografar. Uma coisa em comum da fotografia com o desenho e a pintura é que sou claramente um pessoa de retratos. E é curioso, porque não sou uma pessoa de pessoas mas crio arte com pessoas. Venero a natureza mas não a consigo, nem quero a recriar. Atualmente desenho em formato digital. Desenho pessoas em mais de 5 técnicas de desenho. Desenho histórias de pessoas e todos os anos, supreendo-me a mim mesma.

My artistic journey began in high school when I chose to study Visual Arts. What has always captivated me about the arts is drawing. Despite the arts being associated with plasticity and the manipulation of materials to create, I was never good at manual arts. I found something fascinating in drawing and painting that allowed me to be in my own world. I earned a degree in Art and Multimedia from the University of Madeira. Living through art during my six years of school gave me the certainty that I was where I wanted to be and provided me with the tools to develop better as an artist. I have been photographing since 2008. Photography is at the heart of everything, capturing our purest essence, whether it's the person being photographed or the one taking the photograph. One commonality between photography, drawing, and painting is that I am clearly a person of portraits. It's curious because I am not a people person, yet I create art with people. I revere nature but neither can nor want to recreate it. Currently, I draw in digital format. I draw people using more than five drawing techniques. I draw people's stories, and every year, I surprise myself.

Tatiana Teixeira was born in 1989 in the city of Funchal, Madeira island. 

She lived most of her life in Camacha, nurturing her adoration and enchantment for the surrounding nature.

She completed the academic career at the University of Madeira, completing her degree in Art and Multimedia in 2010. 

After completing the course, she worked as a freelancer, creating digital and multimedia content, developing her own methodology and concept in her projects.

Nature has a major role in the concept of her art and she is inspired by Nature since she can remember. It is important to observe nature with more than our 5 senses, wondering the mysteries that relies within, seeing beyond the reality.

She is an artist who expresses herself through multimedia, promoting the symbiosis between human being and the universe, honoring nature and combining all these elements through the creation of digital content, helping the observer to expand their consciousness to a higher dimension.

Virgínia Barbosa was born on Madeira Island, Portugal. At 17, she moved to Lisbon to study Engineering, but her passion for cinema was always present.

A self-taught filmmaker, she continually learns about cinema through the films she watches, the books she reads, and the films she creates. Since 2016, she has been part of the Tripé collective, working in various areas such as directing, producing, assistant directing, editing, and screenwriting.

Her recent short films have been featured in various festivals, including MOTELX, Filmapalooza Orlando 2019, Madeira Fantastic Film Fest, Córtex Film Festival, and Shorts@Fringe Azores 2019.

Currently, in addition to her work with the Tripé collective, she is the President and Artistic Director of Cossoul (Guilherme Cossoul Instruction Society), a century-old cultural institution of public utility that currently encompasses theater, literature, visual arts, music, and, in general, education and integration through the arts.

Meu nome é Marcela Lirio Campo. Sou uma artista visual e arte educadora de Porto Alegre - Brasil, tendo formação pela Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul. Também estudei arte e património em Portugal e na França, e atualmente frequento o Mestrado em Gestão Cultural na Universidade da Madeira.

Hi! 

My name is Marcela Lirio Campo. I am a visual artist and art educator from Porto Alegre - Brazil, where I graduated from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul. I also studied art and heritage in Portugal and France and am currently taking a masters degree in Cultural Management the University of Madeira. My work is inspired by the experiences and cultures of the places I have visited in my travels.

Of the many things I've done, I've worked with drawing and paper maché for a long time.

Creating with paper enchants me and allows me to move between two-dimensional and three-dimensional planes, between art and crafts, rediscovering my culture and giving space to the new.

I currently live in Madeira Island but in the future who knows?

Teresa Freire (b. 2003) is a visual artist who, in her artistic practice, has developed a passion for stories and folk tales. She seeks to represent this narrative aspect in pieces that simultaneously explore personal and cultural identity, queer identity and associated social issues, human relationships, and the ephemerality of things.

I'm Lara Jumá. I was born in Lourenço Marques, Mozambique on January 9, 1980. I have a degree in Design from the University of Madeira and since 2018 I have worked as a Graphic Designer at the Conservatory- Madeira School of Arts, Eng° Luíz Peter Clode. My interests include photography, ceramics, sculpture, illustration, fabrics, lines, paper, patterns, textures and in my work, some photography and illustration, I try to bring together varied materials that complement each other. I was invited to participate in some group exhibitions at "galeria a" Atef, exhibiting photography works on textured paper and embroidery on photography.

Natacha Sampaio studies Fine Arts, Painting, at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto. She primarily explores painting, illustration, crochet, knitting, and embroidery. She draws inspiration from natural elements and landscapes to connect with her daily life, color, and texture. She creates warm atmospheres and complements her work with photographic records.

 I studied foreign languages ​​at the University "La Sapienza" in Rome, I am a graduate of the Cyprus Tour Guide School of the Cyprus Tourism Organization and I am a professional tour guide.

I developed rich political and social action from a very young age through the Cypriot student organization "Renaissance" in Rome. I am actively involved in many social, charitable and cultural activities. I participated in the Board of Directors. various cultural and sports associations.

My favorite hobby is photography, I attended photography classes at the school of Andreas Evzonas, world award-winning photographer. I had a solo photography exhibition and I have dozens of participations in group photography exhibitions.

I lead the organization of various charity and other events.

I was a member of the Geroskipou Municipal Council in the period 1999-2001 and then served as Deputy Mayor from 2002 to 2006.

I also had the privilege during my time as deputy mayor to actively participate with the Cypriot delegation in the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe based in Strasbourg.

Active in the territorial regeneration through art. Bringing good vibes in the rural lands, sharing freshness in the urban contexts.
