The consumer culture is continuously captivated by the social influence of things such as advertisements, chains stores, and installment plans. Advertisements serve as a constant reminder of what someone might miss out on in they do not spend their money on a particular product. Installment plans provide a false sense of how much a car, or a house, or more recent things like a cell phone, will really cost and this drives more and more people to just spend their money. And lastly, chain stores make products and ideas/ trends national, and the growth of stores and products led to the constant push of the buying and spending generation

They would get psychologists to design campaigns in order to raise sales. They also used installment plans and credit to make products more obtainable to consumers. Businesses used chain stores to get their products across the country.

They used popular celebs to attract more customers and used installment plans which allowed people to buy products now and pay later. They continued to create more advanced technology like vacuum cleaners and phonographs which made everyday life easier. Chain stores and businesses allowed people from all over to be able to purchase wanted products without having to travel very far to find the store. This mostly affected urban areas at the time and were big innovations.

By advertising their products companies were able to influence people that normally wouldn't buy or pay attention to the product. Installment credit allowed people that normally wouldn't be able to buy products at once, buy them but then pay over a period of time. Chain stores allowed businesses to expand their reach in America and expand how many people were able to buy their products.

They began spending more money on ads and used tactics like slogans and celebrities to draw people in. They also created chain stores. By seeing a store all over, Americans started to believe that those chain stores were what was popular, so they would spend money there. Installment plans were another way stores drew people in. The idea of buy now, pay later was very attractive to citizens focusing on the now.

Advertisements were a contribution to pushing consumerism and consumer culture because it was a way of showing products to people who may need them, or convince them that they want them. Installment plans/credit allowed people to buy products and services and pay them off later if they didn't have the money at the time. So, more people were readily able to purchase goods and services. It was buy now, pay later. Chain stores also helped push consumerism because it allowed access to but common things they may need and to know what they sell, even if they never have been there, just off the name and what chain it's associated with.

consumer culture was maintained in many ways. One of the ways consumer culture was maintained was through advertising. Advertising changed in the 1920's and celebrities started to participate in ads, because of peoples hunger for status people purchased those products. people also started to participate in installment plans which meant buy now pay later. this policy was a huge part in mainting consumer culture because people from ww1 wanted to sieze the day and knew they might die tommorow so they used this plan. chain stores started to appear across the us and supported consumerism because people could find certain stores easier and they appeared across the map.

Companies spent millions to formulate an ad that would attract people with a catchy tune or interesting visuals, drawing them to the product.
