A powerful quote

¨Those who kept silent yesterday will remain silent tomorrow."

This quote reflects on the theme: Silence. This quote means that, people who are not trying to make a difference today will not be trying to make a difference tomorrow.

This quote is powerful to me because i grew up around people who didn't want to change their behaviors for the better and they probably never will.

A historical event

I think one historical event that relates to Night is Anne Frank's diary of a young girl. It relates to Night because both of them are vivid descriptions of of the life of jews under the Germans rule. In Anne Frank's book, the main message was that all people should be able to live in freedom. Anne's story is also spreading a message that just because people come from a different religion or race, doesn't mean that they should be treated differently.

A song i think relates to Night

This song relates to Night because all throughout the book, Eliezer tries not to lose hope while trying to survive the concentration camps. A specific lyric in the song says ¨There can be miracles when you believe, though hope is frail, its hard to kill.¨ Which in this book makes sense because while the jews are trying to survive in the camps their hope grows weaker but there is still hope that they are holding onto.

A movie that i think reminds me of the son-father relationship is from Finding Nemo. Nemo and Marlin have a strong father-son relationship. Marlin tries everything in his power to protect his son like Elizier's father tries to do for him.

A poem that relates to Night, i chose is titled Still Here by Langston Hughes.

¨I been scarred and battered

My hopes the wind done scattered

Snow has friz me

Sun has baked me

Looks like between em they done

tried to make me

stop laughin, stop lovin, stop livin

But i don't care!

Im still here.¨

This poem relates because it makes me think of all the kinds of weather the jews suffered through and some still made it out, and the line ¨tried to make me, stop laughin, stop lovin, stop livin¨ reminded me of the Germans taking control of the jews life making it miserable.
