They are not reproducing sexually when they do this because the host cell is a different organism than them. They also cannot reproduce asexually since they don't have enough complexes to. Viruses need to infect the host cell so that they can reproduce.

All living things reproduce. But you can reproduce in different ways weather it is Asexual reproduction or Sexual. Viruses are not able to replicate each other Sexually or Asexually, the only way they are able to do it is through a host cell. Viruses reproduce by taking over other cells + reproduce inside of them. Making the cell make copies of them. “and they sneak into larger cells that have organelles, that they can take over to make copies of themselves. (Virus structure and classification). This says how they can reproduce by making copies of themselves which is neither Asexual or Sexual.

Diana- you proved the other side more then the side we are arguing for, you said how they reproduced Sexually when we are proving that they are not living because they do not reproduce either Asexually or sexually.

Viruses invade cells and to infect them with their DNA. But in order for them to reproduce they need to fully infect that host cell and cannot reproduce without having help from the host cell. If they didn't have a host cell then they would not be able to reproduce.
