The other Wes Moore is impacted by his environment in many ways because he didn't have a father figure growing up since his father decided to leave him and his family before he was born. The only role model Wes had wasn't a good one. Tony was a bad kid who sold drugs beginning at age 10 and had already been arrested multiple times. Wes wanted to be like Tony and Tony tried to explain to him that he needs to be completely different from him and be successful in life. Living in a ghetto part of town also didn't help make Wes successful because he was involved in crime and drugs almost everyday of his life. Not having a good role model and living in a drug/crime filled neighborhood isn't a good environment to put a child in and hope they turn out successful. In Wes's case, he turned out to live the rest of his life in jail and didn't do anything good in his life beside provided for his mistaken children.
