We were briefed on the visit by Tuan Nazir Bin Nujuim (Head of the Center) who is a Park Ranger. We have carried out several activities including watching a video about turtles, seeing 6 mother turtles laying eggs and taking the eggs to the hatching site (Turtle Hatchery). In addition, we have also helped collect the newly hatched turtles and brought them to the beach to be released. The total number of turtles we released was 210 baby turtles. 

Upon arrival we were accompanied by the head of the Pulau Bakungan Kecil center, he explained a little about the island. He took us to see the muc volcano, we even had the chance to use it. After that, we went to the turtle egg hatchery and turtle research site made by Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) students. He also told us that this island is a stopover for foreigners from nearby islands to get permission to go to Sandakan to get food supplies. This is because there are 9 islands between the waters of Sabah and the Philippines. 

Tuan Nazir took us around Gulisan Island bypassing the Philippine border. We were also informed that this island is not to be visited only as a place for turtles to lay their eggs. This center also has no occupants due to security factors since the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the Sabah Parks staff always visit the island area to manage the turtle eggs and transfer them to the turtle hatchery (Turtle Hatchery). Throughout the tour we were also looked after by the head of the center of Selingan island and escorted by the PGA.

2.  In the afternoon the Orangutan cubs were not brought down for training due to weather constraints (rain), then we directly moved the Orangutan cubs from the large enclosure to the small enclosure, then give milk and food to the baby orangutans.
