These two types are star power and bandwagon. This ad features Kendall Jenner, a celebrity who is modelling in the streets when a nearby protest is marching by, and she joins in with a can of Pepsi, along with some other bystanders who are also drinking Pepsi. The protest marches along and stops at a blockade of policemen, when Kendall hands her can of Pepsi to the officer. The officer turns to the officer beside him and gives him a nod of "you should also get one".

This ad has faced international backlash from all types of people for a number of things. Typically, police officers are much more vigilant and authoritative and would most likely ask Kendall to step back if she were to approach them, not take the can of pepsi and drink it. In some cases, walking towards one of these officers with already a heighten fight or flight response could end up with whoever is approaching them arrested or subdued. The other issue is that the protest doesn't seem to have any meaning, and therefore devaluing the right to protest. Despite the backlash, Pepsi stock prices soared on the release of this ad. Pepsi has since taken down the original ad, and issued an apology.
