In the Bible we see that some of these symptoms with neurodivergent or some mental illnesses (mute, convulsing, etc.) can also be used by the devil, like the following verse in Mark 9:“And wherever it seizes him, it throws him down; he foams at the mouth, gnashes his teeth, and becomes rigid. So I spoke to Your disciples, that they should cast it out, but they could not.””

‭‭Mark‬ ‭9‬:‭18‬. Stories like these make it seem like it is solely spiritual and by prayer and fasting, the child can be “healed” like in this story. So how do we differentiate between the spiritual and just being different and seeking out the right resources?
