         <title>Different hues yet one isn’t common</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Educator, Victoria Hwang, in her TED Talk, “What is the rarest color in nature?”, published in June 9th 2022, addresses the topic of finding out what color is the rarest to see in nature and claims that the rarest color to see in nature is the color violet.&nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>She supports this claim by talking about physics and the wavelengths of how colors are generated, then explaining why certain colors appear to be more common than others due to the wavelength that generates them and how they're absorbed, and finally informing her audience that aside from colors being shown by it being absorbed as well as another way which is wavelengths being scattered and amplified, then concludes her claim by stating that violet is the rarest color to see in nature and provides evidence by stating that "The answer is violet. Not to be confused with purple, which is just a combination of red and blue light, violet occupies a small portion of the visible light spectrum. There are only a few nanostructures precise enough to exclusively scatter violet light. And violet wavelengths are even more energetic than blue ones, making them likely to be absorbed by pigment".</div><div><br></div><div>Hwang’s purpose is to point out the color spectrum we see in our day to day life in order to make people appreciate the color violate, as being the rarest color in nature, "So if you ever stumble onto the iridescent violet wings of a purple emperor butterfly, take a second to appreciate one of nature’s rarest spectacles."&nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>She adopts a formal, gentle, and a professional tone for her audience, the readers of <em>Ted Talk</em> and others interested in the topic of visible spectrum, colors, physics and learning more about wavelengths and the science behind colors.</div><div><br></div>]]></description>

For that moment, though, they’re in an intermediate state straddling sleep and wakefulness.
