I'm displaying this piece of writing because I was honestly proud of my outcome. I think that with the limited creativity that I have, I did well with this essay. I think it also shows a lot of my own character after reading it and it reflects on the type of person I am. I talk about how my soccer journey has gone and all the hardships I have faced which I overcame in the end. A big component is my lack of confidence on the field which I repeat a lot in the story as well.

This is my final essay for the class. It took a while but I think I captured her story very well. In this piece, I explain from an author's pov of Gina who had a child at the age of eighteen. She was alone and still managed to raise a wonderful child while overcoming the fact she had few supporters. She is my idol in a way and I got to interview her as well which led me to writing this story.

This was my first piece I wrote for puente so I think I actually did pretty well. Descriptive writing has never been my strong suit but I think after this short 100 word memoir I capture a good vision. I talk about a memory I had at the beach with "people" when really its about a singular person. I dislike the beach a lot but somehow this one person changed that for me and made me admire that place with the peace the person brought me with them just being around. While mentioning these "people" I have a good description on the beach and I think it paints a good picture for the reader as well.

In this poem I was able to capture my year in just a few stanzas. I wrote this about a "storm" to try and create the scene of just how crazy my year was and how many twists and turns it had. And even after all of it, I had to realize that at the end of every terrible storm there is some sort of rainbow. Poems were never my strong suit but I was able to manage to write an okay one with the theme I gave myself and I think I executed it well.

This essay I wrote about the book "The Hate U Give". I was given this novel to read in a book club and it helped me quite a lot in my collaboration and communication with other peers. This book also gave me a better understanding and new view on the topic of racism. In summary, the book was about this girl, Starr, who saw her close friend die right in front of her as they were driving home after getting pulled over by a police officer. His death takes a huge toll on her and she decides whether or not to speak out about it to the public. This grows her character but also just gives the readers a view of racism that not many people see when they don't see in the perspective of the black person. My essay does a great job of depicting the essay and what it meant to me while relating it to our real world.

As a group with Camila, my peer, we wrote a 20 line play to preform in front of the class. After hearing and watching zoot suit we were asked to write our own mini play and so we did. Luna and Leo are the main characters going through an issue and are settling it but they both speak as pachucos. This is a certain style of speaking and living in the play we watched as a class. I think me and Camila did a pretty good job of being able to capture that type of style and incorporate it to our own play.

At some point I wrote a reflection on my CCW however now I have my final narrative. I write about my highest and lowest ranked capital that I established in the very beginning of the school year and how they have changed. I speak about who has helped and influenced me the most in positive ways that has also affected my CCW categories. I personally think my essay is great considering I followed the rubric and I also added more than just two of my capitals to talk about. I think it was a great way to end my year.
