There are many strengths within the US presidential election process. With the Electoral College the election process ensures that all parts of the country are important to the candidates campaigning. It also ensures that the voices of the minorities are heard just as the majority. With the election processes strengths also come its weaknesses. The Electoral College gives certain states the electoral votes that could sway the entire election. The Electoral College also minimizes each citizen's individual votes and representative democracy. These weaknesses of our election process could possibly be fixed by changing the process from electoral ruling to the popular ruling. If our election process was determined by the popular vote it would ensure that all citizens would be represented. This would also force candidates to campaign to the population instead of swing states, which are states with more electoral votes that could largely impact the turnout.

The U.S. presidential election has several strengths. With these elections, our country utilizes an electoral college. This promotes candidates to pay attention to a variety of states, and not just those with the biggest populations. Still, there are some problems with this system. For example, a candidare can win the presidency even if they don't get the most votes nationwide which isn't entirely fair. In order to fix this weakness, the U.S. could consider switching to a national popular vote. This would make it so everyone's votes count equally, no matter where people live. This could both simplify and better our democratic process for presidential elections.

The Us presidential election process has many strengths, but it also has many weaknesses. The US presidential election relies on the electoral college. Which means every state gets a number of votes based on there population. This can be a good thing because it gets candidates involved with the states. But it can also be a bad thing as candidates will often try to win the favor of states with higher population number, while being less interested in states with a smaller number of people. This type of election has another weakness. Due to the fact that states each have a different number of representatives in the electoral collage, there is a possibility that the person elected did not receive the majority of the public's votes, rather just the major of the electoral collage votes. To fix this, the government should change it so the candidate is elected by the national majority instead of the electoral collage majority.

One of the main strengths of the U.S. presidential election process is that it encourages public participation, giving citizens the power to vote for their leaders. It also includes checks and balances, such as the separation of powers, to prevent any one branch from gaining too much control. The system supports free speech and a variety of political parties and perspectives, which adds to political debate. However, the process has some clear weaknesses. The Electoral College can make the results feel unfair; Candidates can win the presidency without winning the most votes nationwide, which can frustrate voters and reduce trust in the system. There are also issues like voter suppression, gerrymandering, and unequal access to voting, especially in marginalized communities. These problems could be addressed through reforms such as expanding voting access, increasing election security, and possibly replacing the Electoral College with a national popular vote.

The US presidential election is a well known continuous event that happens to maintain our democracy. Along the years many candidates go about this election in different ways making new traditions and pathways to take part in the election. Some strengths that include in the presidential election is the media coverage, the media coverage that focuses on mainly the two party US presidential election brings in more people interested in ideas of the candidates forcing them to do more research on the main election. Although there are many strengths in our democracy, there comes weaknesses. One weakness in US presendtial election is that is only focuses on two party system, forcing people to want to either vote left or right. I feel this is weakness as usually the other parties also have good intentions and ideas, but often times get pushed asides as they are usually seen as unimportant in the election as it is very unlikely that they will since our democracy focuses on a two party system. This could be solved as the main stream could make it more so it focuses on all the parties except the two, giving more ideas and more people to feel the importance of other ideas besides "left" and "right".

A strength in the United States presidential election process are its foundation in federalism, this allows each state to play a role in the outcomes through the Electoral College to encourage candidates to campaign across the country to widen its range of voters. The process also benefits from strong election security measures like paper ballots and cyber protections. In addition, to having a long history of peaceful transfers of power. Though the system has weakness too such as the potential for a candidate to win the presidency without winning the popular vote. This can lead to questions of fairness and representation in the system itself. Also, the voter suppression plus unequal access to voting can undermine the public's trust. These issues can be addressed with reforming or abolishing the Electoral College, ensuring universal access to voting through federal standards and enhancing transparency with the voting process. -Billie Leet

Our country is very unique in the way we perform our elections. Still, it is a historical system and a large part of American culture. Though the electoral college may be controversial, it does ensure every voter is heard and accounted for when deciding the country's leader. The election process has various strengths and weaknesses, as does every system of government. One benefit of the electoral college is that every state, no matter how small, gets at least 3 votes. The electoral college also forces candidates to campaign in all states (and appeal to a large variety of interests), not just the highly populated ones--a strategy that would be helpful in a popular vote. The electoral college also enhances our sense of national unity as it distributes power more evenly across the states. However, the electoral college does have some discrepancies. Across states, the value of a single person's vote can vary slightly due to the way the electoral college creates swing states. Swing states are states that are often not strongly affiliated with one party, therefore, both candidates will try hard to earn that state´s votes. This means that if you live in a swing state, your vote may be objectively more impactful than someone who lives in a highly partisan state. One red vote in a state that is majorly blue might not make a difference in anything but statistics, but one red vote in a state that is almost equally red and blue may just be the deciding factor. The electoral college may not be considered as equality, but it is a clear example of equity.

Some strengths in the US presidential election process are how unique the process is, and how engaged the voters are allowed to be. Our election process has two main processes- the presidential primaries and the presidential elections. The presidential primaries is where the presidential candidates for each party are selected. The presidential election is when the president of the United States is selected every four years. The presidents are elected by an electoral college, which equally represents each state based on their population. The electoral college typically votes for whatever candidate won the popular vote in that state. A weakness of this system is that in some cases, the electoral college votes opposite of who won the popular vote in their state. This often does not work in favor of the citizens of the United States, because it is not an accurate representation of the citizens of the United States. This could be solved by ensuring that the popular vote in each state is counted properly, and the electoral college is forced to vote for whatever candidate wins the popular vote in the state they represent.
