It shaped my views of the world and who I should be as a person. Just like the boy in the book, I too used to take people for granted. When I was younger I needed a lot from my family, but this book taught me that my family sacrificed a lot for me and that I needed to appreciate what they've done. The tree also taught me that I will sometimes need to make sacrifices for the people I care about  even when it doesn't benefit me. It taught me to care and love even during the hardest times.

Throughout the movie, the truth is kept hidden from certain characters and the public. In the end, Batman takes the blame for the murders caused by district attorney Harvey Dent. This caused Batman to look like the villain while Dent dies a hero in the eyes of the public. In this case the truth is kept from others in order to keep them from getting hurt. I learned from this that the truth isn’t always good and should sometimes be kept secret in order to keep others safe. This shaped by personality and views when it comes to discussing the truth.
