S- 1. I want to be able to get a term mark of A in this subject area to make my family proud 2. I want to learn more about the logic and function of math in a day to day scenario. 3. I want to expound on my current math knowledge by either learning new things or expounding my skills in topics I already know about.

M- Each week I will monitor my performance in this subject, and take quizzes online to test my knowledge to its full capacity. By doing this I will not only be able to monitor my progress, it will also make my knowledge denser because of the weekly quizzes. This can really change up my current studying methods and change it for the better. Now that I am about to graduate I realize things will be harder, and so I need to adjust for it, that’s why I have made this type of weekly checking.

A- I plan to achieve this kind of goal by putting all of my work into it. I will use it as a fuel source for learning all new sorts of exciting things, but not every topic will be easy. There will be some challenges along the road of learning, but with the help of friends and family I will make it through this process even if it may take a long time. Not having a supper system when it comes to things like school can be detrimental to any students mental health, because if you lack a support system there is no one to go back and seek for comfort to.

As I have mentioned in the past, my friends and family will be the core of my moral support. Having these types of people around me will give me the willpower to keep going and to Perdue these challenging tasks. Although they may not support me physically the fact that they are there is enough for me, just imaging their faces when I complete my journey. That alone is priceless. They can help me through mental support, for example cheering me on and congratulating me for finishing quizzes and exams. My friends can help me through this by having group study sessions where we all share facts about new topics that we have learned about. This alone is already good enough for me, and I do hope that they strive as well.

R- I have a few reasons on why I want to achieve these goals. First of all I want to make my family proud, even if they may not be for me in some situations. They are still family and even if they have flaws they still love you unconditionally. Second, I need to be able to prove to myself that I can achieve a decent academic score so that when I do go out and Perdue my dreams I can give myself reassurance that I can do it. Third I want to be responsible for myself. By proving to my parents that I can handle myself as a student, they will learn to trust me more. In turn I can feel for independent and I don’t have to worry my parents anymore.

T- I will take a lot of time to complete these tasks, I would say around when the school year ends, or even until I finish school in general. Learning will always be a constant in life, and it’s up to me to embrace it. They do say that change is the only contestant thing in life. But with supper I will for sure not give up on this, not until finish my journey on becoming a better man for others and myself. This shows that things like this don’t only help you in one part of life, it can shape you into a better person through practices and habits that you make along the way..

One study technique I will take onto the next school year is studying in intervals and giving myself time to reclaim my composure. This practice will let me handle homework and lectures with more attention and capacity. These kinds of things really show how small things can really change the way you see things whether in school or not.

This study habit isn't necessarily bad, its more of a mix of both. Asking others questions before I even get myself introduced in the topic. I know that it may sound tempting to just ask your classmates for some help without actually doing anything yet. But this thing has to stop, I need to be less dependent on my friends and family because it feels like i'm just using them for my own good. This year I will make a stand against it and hopefully learn more than I ever have before.

One habit that has not helped me at all is cramming and laziness. These two things have made my high school life a lot worse that it should have. I would always complain why there was so much homework, but I failed to see the fact that it was partially my fault too. Now that I have realized my mistakes I will make sure to avoid ever doing this again for the sake of my mental well being.

CONCEPTUAL UNDERSTANDING

After finishing the 1st term, I have seen many difficult and challenging assessments. But one stood out the most, this was the SA 3. This SA was not like any other before, and I have to say that it was very difficult to accomplish. And because of this our class had to take a retest on the Quadratic Models part of the Long Test. Now that I am finished with it, I realized why the reason why it was so stressful for me, was because of the lack of preparation I had for the test. This is one of the reasons why studying is so important in the academic sense. Being able to retain knowledge from past lessons can help you so much with any task, and sadly I did not have this luxury doing that time. So now I will propose 2 solutions for my future self. Number 1, keep your academics as your priorities. Whenever you have the choice to slack off instead of studying for a test you have the following day, always choose the latter, trust me, you will not regret this choice in the future. And finally number 2, always look for a study buddy. Having someone to study with makes it less tedious, and having someone to talk to while studying can be a big help when looking for motivation to do tasks.

During this term, I have fallen victim to many instances when I understood topics in the wrong way, and this can be traced back to misconceptions. Misconceptions play a big part in our lives, they can be seen everywhere and can happen every day. During this term, I had multiple misconceptions, but the worst one I had was when I thought that the zeroes of the function and the x-intercepts were the same, this led to me getting a lot of wrong answers in my homework, seatwork, and even in the long test we had a few days ago... Misconceptions are a common thing in life, and its ok to have fallen victim from time to time in your life. We just have to grow as people surpass our past mistakes and learn from them. Luckily I was able to do this, and now I can understand the topic of our math better, this really shows how important mistakes are in our lives because without them we would never learn. I learned about my misconception when confronting my fellow batchmates about a few questions, and then I realized what I got wrong and I was in a state of shock. I ended up contemplating about whatever else I wrote down in the test and I got even more worried. Now that I have reflected on this, I can say that I was a bit careless during those times when I was studying for math.

One of my best works this term was for our SA 2, I studied hard for it, and it turned out to pay off, I got a 34/36 on the test and I was ecstatic. When I reflected on this, I realized how amazing studying is, and how effective it is. To be completely honest I was in complete disbelief of the score I got. I just really understood the topic and really enjoyed it, having results like this gives me the inspiration to keep going with this kind of mindset, and I am really happy with my current situation

For this term, we didn't really have any sort of group work, so instead of having group work, me and my friends had study sessions instead. We would all go to the library and have a quiet time with each other trying to understand topics. But overall studying with friends is a very relaxing and effective way to study for upcoming tests and projects.
