The speaker of this song is someone who lost romantic interest in their partner, You can see that this is the speaker in both the lyrics and video.
The occasion of this is kicking out your ex and moving on. You can see this in the video as she kicks out her ex after he cheated.
The Audience is you/the ex for many reasons, one being in the video you can see Beyoncé singing right to the man that was leaving.
The purpose is to encourage people to cut off the relationship if they are not given what they deserve.
The subject is showing that your partner is replaceable. You can see this at the end of the video when a new man comes to her house.

The lyrics have several different appeals to make the message of being replaceable very clear. The video helps give visual representation of the break up and not needing your ex is shown in the lyrics. Beyoncé is effective in showing you don't need your ex and they can be replaced in both the lyrics and video.

Someone who got cheated on is acting as the speaker is attempting to tell people who who are in a relationship and are not getting what they deserve then they should cut off the relationship. They use the appeals of pathos and ethos in the lyrics and the appeals of pathos and ethos in the video to get this message across. In analyzing the lyrics and video, it appears that their use of appeals is effective in convincing their intended audience. In the lyrics and video they both tell mostly the same story line.

Ethos- You can see a few examples of ethos in the lyrics. One of the places you can see it is when it says "keep talking that mess" this shows the type of person he was. This shows that he wont just except it and keeps trying to get himself out of trouble. Another place in the lyrics is when it says "Standing in the front yard telling me/ How I'm such a fool" this shows the type of character he has because he is bashing her for wanting to be over. He also is tying to cause a scene to show it wasn't his fault.

Pathos- You can see mostly pathos in songs because all of the emotion. Pathos is present in the lyrics of Irreplaceable. The first example is in the lyric "'Cause you made your bed, now lay in it" Pathos is present here because she is telling her ex that you have to except the consequences of his actions. It is also explaining that all the things he did lead up to them breaking up and he has to except it now. Another place pathos is present in the lyrics of Irreplaceable is "Baby I won't shed a tear for you". This has a lot of emotion in it and it is saying that she wont even be sad that he is gone. It also shows that they didn't really have anything special to be sad about.
