Reading is a huge part of  the grade 1 curriculum.  The students are at different stages of their reading development.  Don't worry, they will all learn to read. Xenya loves you as her teacher! And comes home happy every day so yay!!
I have the same concerns as the others about reading and how much French she gets this year.
I also am wondering about homework. Not  that I have a want for copious amounts but I heard there was quite a bit and haven't really seen any. Am I missing it? 
As well i would like to know how your feel Xenya's progress and position is with learning in regards to what is expected of her in grade one😊

Reading is a big part of our day.  We will spend time learning reading strategies and putting these to use in our daily reading.
Homework will begin once the Friendship Books are completed.  Homework consists of sight word activities/phonics, math and reading.  It is sent home on Monday's and due to school on Thursday's.  If your child needs an extra day for completion it can be returned on Friday's. Mrs. Reid
