These buildings were built to make a statement to the world for best architectural design.  Kevin Ali  in his article on the Toronto Standard website indicated the failure of the hyped promised with these structures for a better urban living.  They were overly broadcast to the world in which Ali described as "their impossibly curvy, helix-like facade were hailed as a miracle of modern architecture. Winning the coveted “Best Tall Buildings in the Americas” award, they were to bring the promise of a better urban tomorrow". Sadly, the outcome was vastly disappointing and recounted by Ali, "that they failed spectacularly" Ma Yansong a  Beijing national was the young designer along with firm called MAD architechs. The building gained awards, building of the year but it mainly served to be an over speculation.  A bubble was created in the market with over supply yet an escalated market price remaining constant. The twisted twin towers took on the name of well known iconic figure of Marilyn Monroe. It is said to be 175 metres into the Mississauga skyline. Stuart Wolege on the September 2013 article of Daily Mail site, stated that of the building, "So called because their hourglass figure bears a similar shape to that of the legendary Hollywood film star, each of the flats in The Absolute World Towers, near Toronto in Canada, are said to be unique." The buildings twist 209 degrees from their base to the top floor, 56 storeys up.
The buildings association to the feminine gender aimed to purport a world of physical appearance and mascarade women as objects for enjoyment.
