They met in Chemistry class. Eddie took Rosie to Mary Poppins on their first date and then to a steakhouse called Jonny's. This was the start of a 53 year and counting marriage. Rosie and Eddie had five children and now have 12 grandchildren. She was born in Oberlin Kansas than later moved to Salina. My grandma's best and earliest memory was when she was six and her father told her that her sister was born. My grandma and her sister Genny moved to Denver, Colorado with their parents. Some of her best memories included going to her neighbor's houses (the Wilcox family and Perry family) and playing with the other children. She remembers playing with many toys in these houses as she didn't have many toys at her own. Teddy passed away due to Sudden Infant's Death (SIDS). This was a great loss for her, my grandfather, and her family as a whole. Through her faith, Rosie was able to get through such a difficult time. She went on to have the rest of her children after the death of Teddy. On memorial day, Rosie and Eddie visit the resting place of their son and place flowers on his grave. This keeps his memory alive year by year. He is remembered and talked about within our whole family which also has kept his spirit alive. The Catholic faith is the foundation of our families beliefs. My cousin a year older than I fell 30 ft from a balcony and sustained a traumatic brain injury. While in the hospital, Teddy appeared in the dreams of my aunt (mother to my cousin who fell) and of my grandma. In the dream he said Jonny was not ready to meet him in Heaven and that he was watching over him.
