On a whiteboard at home or in the office, draw the "Four quadrants of time use" and use this as your "to do" list, placing the tasks in the suited category, this will help with prioritizing importance. Tasks that are completed can be rubbed off the whiteboard.

I think of an overview in my head that needs to be done. I then use a notebook/planner where I write and prioritize the important tasks or assessments due. I always like to refer back and forth to see if I'm reaching a good time management goal through out each day, so I wont need to rush.

I normally use my calendar and or reminders if I have deadlines to meet. This way it is easy for me to look at over a week or a month and see visually what I have planed coming up, it also notifies me when getting closer to deadlines with alarm reminders that I put in place. I use note when planning and prioritising tasks and give them deadlines to be completed by, this way I manage what I can do in a realistic time frame.

I like to set goals and color code each with a highlighter according to urgency and importance. Its very important to review goals and plans regularly as quite often the unexpected happens and you are left wasting time on a situation you hadn't planned for.

Another good point... learn to say no! We can not do it all!

(Daniel Howell)

The first thing I do to help with time management is make sure I have a clean and tidy office / work space, having less clutter and usable space allows me to plan out my day ahead. I use a whiteboard for myself and my employees with set tasks from urgent to not urgent, and also to write notes on as the day or week progresses.
