In Ty Dolla $ign's song "No Justice" he examines the issue of justice, equality, and race in America, specifically in relation to police brutally against African American citizens in the United States. Ty Dolla $ign begs listeners to examine figures who have power/authority, critic how that power is used, and discuss bias both implicit and explicit bias in society. Justice, as defined in the Merriam Webster Dictionary is the quality of being just, impartial, or fair. Social being defined as relating to humans, the interaction of the individual and the group, or the welfare of human beings as members of society. Together, social justice is the fair, impartial, and just treatment of humans in our society. For educational leaders, change and advocacy can first begin within the educational system/institution. Social justice leaders can do this by "committing to equity...promoting inclusive cultures and practices in schools" pg.21.

In order to create an inclusive culture teachers and administrators must garner the trust and support of their student's parents. In the article "Educational Leaders as Cultural Workers: Engaging Families and School Communities through Transformative Leadership" by Camille Cooper (date unknown), she states that "families and educators could potentially form strong, powerful, allegiances that benefit children because they are the most influential people in children's lives" pg. 185.

It is imperative for educational systems to build strong relationships with stakeholders, creating allies for change and justice.

In the article "Transformative Leadership: Working for Equity in Diverse Contexts" Shields (2010), states that "transformative leadership begins with questions of justice and democracy; it critiques inequitable practices and offers the promise not only of greater individual achievement but of a better life lived in common with others" pg.559.

In order to critique practices and offer a better life lived in common with others, leaders must be able to look introspectively and analyze their own biases, prejudices, apprehensions, and fears, to that which is "different". Without self reflection, leaders will fail to create transformative change and as a result fail to create the paramount programs, curriculum, support, and structures that are needed.
