         <title>What is Science:Inquiry and Method?</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Before coming to this class, I didn't even know what science inquiry was and I had to revisit the scientific method.&nbsp; I thought about times I was in a science class and how it was different learning in that subject than other subjects. Once I learned what it was, I realized it was something my teachers used, science inquiry, without us knowing it. That's what make it so engaging and independent like.<br><br>Science by definition is the knowledge of any kind.The scientific method is the process of investigation. First you identify the problem that raises a question. Then you do research of the problem. Once you have gathered some helpful information, you form an hypothesis and conduct an experiment. Once you've got the data go back go over it and analyze it. Lastly ,you can draw your conclusion from your findings.<br><br>Science inquiry uses a problem-solving, engaging approach to the classroom.&nbsp;What does science inquiry look like in the classroom? In a way, it's like using parts of the scientific method to solve problems.&nbsp; In the classroom, students have to use tools such as asking a question or doing research to help them solve problems.          <title>My NS:100 Experience </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Of course when I got in this class I expected labs and experiments and textbooks. NS:100 is my first class where I had to do everything without meeting with a teacher and it was rough.<br><br>I thought not having a teacher or class daily would make it harder for me to understand the lessons and I was right. I did struggle with some of the assignments. Not because I have the resources I needed but because I'm not used to the pace.<br><br>This will help me be more understanding of students who may struggle in class. As a student I thought this class was fast for me but other students may be having an easier time. Whereas I may be excelling in a class with a slower pace, others may struggle with the same class. I'll think about why some students may be struggling. </div>]]></description>

         <title>My Scientific Perspective</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I've always felt as though science was important. It's literally the study of things around and their purpose. Everything around us can be explained by using science. &nbsp;<br><br>After going through this class and the many resources we had to go over it really took my thinking to the next level. In the classroom, science isn't just doing experiments. During these experiments students are actually developing character and life skills.&nbsp; Experiments in school are usually done in teams which build social skills. It also builds consistency. A science experiment always has a controlled variable. It shows something will always be the same unless something changes it.&nbsp; When something doesn’t work, go back and try again.<br><br>I will find ways to use my growth in the subject, to find ways to make other classes just as engaging and character building as science. </div>]]></description>

         <title>What Is Life?</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Before this class I never really thought about what life is or the characteristics. Living organisms characteristics are order, sensitivity or response to the environment, reproduction, growth and development, regulation, homeostasis, and energy processing. When together, these characteristics are what make life.&nbsp;<br><br>The phrase “life finds a way,” means there’s always a way to adapt.Life will find a way to change for the environments around.&nbsp; I think in and outside of the classroom students have to "find a way". We as teachers should engage and teach our students the different ways in life so they can find a way on their own.<br><br>It's my job to give my students all the tools they need to make it inside or outside of the classroom. Schools and teachers help provide children with the resources they need to live and continue living. Just like I was given resources to complete this class, I'll give my students the same support. </div>]]></description>

         <title>Microscopic Making Macroscopic Changes</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Before this course, I didn't really think about how much of an impact teaching students about life changing is. It's easy for a teacher to feel like they have little impact because we think of teaching as what we're supposed to do. You don't really think about your impact or part in those moments because you're focused on teaching.<br><br>Here in New Orleans, middle school plays a big part in students lives because some don’t make it pass that. I’ve seen for a fact that they hold to those moments in middle school where something was interesting. Making the curriculum you teach engaging and informing will leave a impact that can’t be forgotten because you made it fun,made it make sense, and you made it relate to subjects.You want them to be able to think back to a moment you taught and use it in their adult life.&nbsp;<br><br>Moving forward, I'm going to pay attention to everything I do as well as what my students are doing. I'll pay attention to the way they are progressing through my teaching.  Everything around them can make or break something. Something as small as slowing down for a student could make a major impact on your student. Even the little things you say can make an impact in ways you didn't know. <br><br></div><div><br></div>]]></description>
