In the Santa Clarita Valley one could, in theory, never leave the valley to find anything due to the fact that everything a person needs is within a 20 mile radius of any SCV resident, exactly like in any Levittown. For example, the Westfield mall is in the center of town which is relatively a short distant from the surrounding areas, Newhall, Valencia, Stevenson Ranch, Golden Valley, Canyon Country and Saugus. It has it all; shops, restaurants, and family oriented activities. Any age can hang out there. It is family safe in a family centered area. In the blueprints for Levittowns, having shops centrally located from resident was essential for a town to be a Levittown. Moreover SCV is the home of several car dealerships, another example for everything at a citizen's fingertips. Having everything readily available to residents creates a tight knit community since SCV residents can support their local business. Levittowns were created to help establish a community that is based on residents of goodwill and an outlet for the crazy life of the city. Similarly to Levittowns, SCV is a town that contains residents of goodwill that wants to help each other out and to encourage local and family oriented activities.

Levittowns were established to create an outlet from the crazy life of the city. A place away from the mess so a couple can raise a family and let their kids play out side with the neighbor kids. The perfect community has places for kids to play at safe and convenience parks. SCV, comparable to Levittowns, has resident parks within neighborhoods and through the community. The idea of community and space to play attracts many families out of the city and into the suburbs. In the movie, Bachelor in Paradise, the character Rosemary Howard is surprised when the character Adam J. Niles says he will not be working in the city Likewise, most Santa Clarita residents work in the city and commute to work everyday. The 5 freeway travels along Santa Clarita making SCV the optimal location for quick access into the city. My dad for instance works down in Burbank and wanted to raise a family in the suburbs away from the city.

The key element for a town to be Levittown is to have the houses on a tract. As explained in Levittown, the homes are of the same floor plan with same structure, however, the outside changes from four different varieties of style and color. In the same way, the homes in Santa Clarita neighborhoods are on a specific tract according to the community design. All of the houses in Levittown and in SCV are all groomed to perfections. The neighborhood I live in has tract homes and just like in Levittown all of the houses follow the same pattern of alternating style and color and the rows of homes continues. Furthermore, Levittown is known for naming streets by a common tribute in that specific area. Santa Clarita also follows this trend by in my neighborhood, all of the streets are named after types of Oak trees and others are named by types of rocks. SCV is identical to Levittowns.

The SCV is a copy of the plans for organizations within the community in Levittowns. Like Levittown, Santa Clarita has Little League teams that from all over the valley, kids from all ages come together and play baseball at Hart Baseball field. It is a place for boy and girls to go and do what they love with kids from the different parts of towns and neighborhoods. The community is then strengthened by the growth of friendship between fellow residents of SCV. In Levittowns residents were encouraged to create organizations that brought other residents together. In modern day that is still the case as not only baseball Little Leagues but also swimming can bring the community together. At the Santa Clarita Aquatic Center, little kids to elderly can swim there. There are teams that encompass of swimmers from around the valley to compete for one team together. Levittown's idea of making pools in order to include more people is seen through the membership of 700 swimmers currently at Canyons Aquatic Club who trains at the Aquatic Center.

The neighborhoods in the Santa Clarita Valley are calculated around the elementary, middle, and high schools. Levittowns were developed with families in mind so the school sites were a part of the perfect plan. SCV adopted that idea when developing, for example, Westridge. Oak Hills Elementary, Rancho Pico Junior High, and West Ranch High School were all made across the street from each other and is surrounded my hundreds of tract homes. The residents of these homes have easy access for their children to attend school and can walk there. Levittown and SCV both took a land full of dirt and made into a mecca for city workers to raise their families. The planing from both towns was focussed on convince and perfection for it's residents. Schools within communities were a factor into the perfectly planned town.

Levittown community members encourage to see each other as "Lakesiders" not "Levittowners" In the same manner, being part of the Santa Clarita Valley is not usually what residents think of themselves as. If one goes to and lives near Valencia High School or Canyon High School they will see themselves as residents of Valencia or Canyon Country, respectively, not just residents of SCV. The rivalries between the school's sport teams creates a competitions between SCV residents based on what part of town they live in. Cheering on your neighbors from the same place as you creates a stronger community. After big games the local newspaper, The Signal, recaps the highlights for the entire valley. Residents may see themselves as West Ranch or Hart but will always be part of SCV.
